Iceland isn't some bucolic isolated place, almost 60% of the population is in Reykayvik (sp?) and they get almost three million visitors a year, there are lots of opportunities for the virus to spread

None of that changes the fact that across the world, hospitals are being overrun. The death rate of confirmed cases in Italy is close to 8% mainly because of their elderly population, but also because they can treat the flood of patients they have.

Older people can't be isolated. Too stubborn. Hell tell old people who are content staying put to do so and a good bit of them will tell you to frick off and then start moving around.

Buddy of mine got on the last flight out of the US to Heathrow to be with his girlfriend (a type 1 diabetic). He told me that the limey government directed all immunocompromised people to self-quarantine for 12 weeks. That's fricking nuts.

Understood, but hell there are a bunch of cases in the Faroe Islands of all places. When you look at how this thing has swept the world it tells me (1) there is no stopping it, and (2) there are already way more people than we think with this thing. And the percentage of fatal and serious cases are way way lower than what is being put out there.

So maybe the you should isolate those only in densely populated areas like cities and not in the unincorporated or more sparsely populated areas.
