I’ll be treated at Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham by the Alabama Oncology group. If all goes well, my Whipple surgeon will be Dr. John Christein. He is well-respected in the regional medical community for this procedure.

If you have a chance at Whipple, that’s good news. As I’m sure you already know, pancreatic cancer is a 95% death rate within a year of diagnosis. We lost my mother-in-law to it. We’ve been big supporters of the Walter Reed Foundation

Prayers for you and your family brother.

King has made it clear that he plans to share with his daughter he came here first because this place has the ability to let you share very personal things and then log off or just not respond to it if it's getting to you

that's the community
the beauty of this place is it it can be real
but it doesn't have to be if you don't want it to be

it can be a break from reality while being aware this isn't real ,,life is real

King ,, u got this

I intend to tell her for sure in the next few days. She’s still in the early days of testing and doesn’t even have a name for her cancer or a treatment plan. She had a biopsy yesterday. I wanted to get my mind clear and for her own shock to wear off. I may not get to see her through all of this as she lives in Seattle. Thanks for the encouragement.

I hear ya brother. It’s easy to attempt to give advice from the outside but couldn’t imagine having to actually have that conversation myself.

Don’t know yet. Waiting on appointment with oncologist and surgeon this week. Just got discharged last Friday. It all happened quickly. I’ll update here when I know more. Thanks man.

Cancer is so bad. I feel for you and your family. I will pray for you and your loved ones for everything yall are enduring.

Some may mention alternative therapies and I’m open to them but they will be in conjunction with traditional treatments.

You mentioned this....
What are you looking for? Like fasting and taking certain vitamins, etc?
Sorry, if this already has been discussed over the 7 page thread....

Pretty much yes, and I’ll probably do those anyway as I already eat fairly clean and take supplements, but I was inundated with messages after I posted on social media about my daughter with messages saying don’t do chemo, take this miracle compound discovered in the Amazon rain forest, Ivermectin, special diets, you name it. Somebody suggested Barbara O’Neill, the wack chick from Australia.

I’m tuned into alternative medicine and think there may be some promise there, but until you’ve gotten that dreaded diagnosis you don’t know what you’ll do. Surgery and chemo have cured a lot of cancers.

I have no experience in cancer, but fight. I think your attitude can truly have an effect on how longer you survive in situations like cancer. Don't give up.

Damn dude. That's awful. Praying for you.

shite like this was my fear when I had a stubborn bile duct stricture at the head of my pancreas last year. They sait it was because I was passing so many stones that its badly scarred. Im also in my early 30s so pancreatic cancer i guess is rare. But holy frick I feel for you.
