Getting out while route to interstate still passable.
Probably tomorrow,
Maybe thursday.
Risk. Route to i5 could be blocked by then.

Did you ever wonder about the somalis that stay?

I mostly wonder whether Northern California has any kind of continuing education system that helps adults learn to express coherent thoughts.

I saw that video a year or so ago with those guys driving down a mountain surrounded by fire. I’d do anything needed to avoid ending up in that scenario.

There are fires
1. To my east. 5% contain
2. North. 0% contain
3. West no idea. Its a hell realm. Would not try on a bet.
4. Southwest. No one allowed.

Dont know which fire you saw.
The ones around me are out of control.
No rain for 10 days.

Power of prayer would be tested, imagine rain in all counties north of sf.

Not enough resources to deal with it all, and in the redwood fire, terrain.
Tubbs, redwood and the one on indian res east of me.

Peace. Out.

Not compared to making the wrong decision of not leaving killing you and your family. Take the small valuable stuff and items insurance can't replace.

Should I Stay or Should I Go

The decision was thought out years ago.

Thanks man.
Socialist progs for full reportage, at your service.

I saw some sob story from tubbs lane fire about some guy who stayed and saved his horses. That induces people to risk all for boopsie.
10 people dead. 2+2 says some them were using back yard hose to try to save their 3 bed 2 bath underinsured home.

In my case my house is in escrow. I am insured for 231k, the cost to rebuild.
I get 255k if its still standing and the buyers are still solvent on closing day. $60k free and clear, after 8% to real estate agents and 2% of that to down Payment Of buyer.
3, 3 and 2. $255k left after all that.
I admit that when i was loading car last night (in case i was awakened in night by fire alarm horn) i thought about standing in the yard with hose.
No.

Live here in Sonoma County. Received emergency notification from S.O. about an hour ago that said the Tubbs Fire is still 0% contained.

My 90 y/o father was living at Villa Capri Assisted Living on Fountaingrove Parkway in Santa Rosa. They had just a few minutes to evacuate the fire was moving so fast up that canyon before it shot out the west side like a blowtorch into the Coffee Park neighborhood.

The place he was living at burned to the ground in no time. He lost every personal possession he owned. Took us about 6 hours to track him down to a church he had been evacuated to. When we picked him up he wearing just his underwear and a robe. The main thing is he is alive and with us now.

I was LE for four decades in the Bay Area. I worked and lived through the Loma Prieta Quake, responded with mutual aid to the Oakland Hills Fire and was on a recovery team in the aftermath of the San Bruno PG&E fire. While all those were horrific, they don't match the total devastation I saw in Santa Rosa yesterday.
