What are the best ones to have for that " just in case moment" ? I bought a glock 9 for my wife and now I'm looking for something for myself. I want another handgun and some type of long gun. I also enjoy shooting for fun.

Home Defense Shotgun
Strategically scattered 9mm pistols

Better lock it up.
ETA: Glock for reliability and an AR for society meltdown.

Get another Glock. You want to go to a common round and common spare for defensive, SHTF purposes. Last thing you need is a weapon with no ammo. Most common law enforcement ammo is going to be 9mm and .40 S&W. Ditto for military handgun ammo (99% will be 9mm). So, that's a great starting point.
And, for a rifle, get an AR - Lego for adults. Get a starter (Ruger AR556 or S&W M&P Sport II) and start making holes in paper - OR build your own from parts.

Only two RPGs?
What happens when I show up at your house with three?

During work hours, yes. But I personally have never met someone who was a victim of someone breaking into their home while they were there. Seems like someone would have to personally have a vendetta against you to break in during the middle of the night.

Sigh. I remember when the standard OT response was simple.
The Judge.
The Judge.

I have a Sig 9mm and 12 gauge under my bed, new concealed carry with be M&P shield 9mm, getting an AR-15 in the near future as well. I'd rather be over prepared

Those are the ones you know about, but the claymores are my first line of defense.

I've got a 12 gauge (I use for dove, pheasant, quail, and duck hunting) and a M&P .40.
The shotgun was purchased for hunting purposes and was never intended for home defense. Honestly, the M&P .40 wasn't either. It was gifted down to me and I mainly use it to shoot at the range for fun.
That said, I'm not really fearing a home invasion, but it is somewhat comforting to have.

I assume you mean a glock 9mm. The Glock G17, G19, G26, G34 and G43 are all 9mm Glocks. Which one did you get your wife? Strictly for home defense, I'd say get a G17 as well, but you should go try them out and see how they feel for you. Glocks are among the most reliable handguns made and standardizing on a single caliber is a good idea. For a long gun, AR-15, without a doubt. I'd find one that is light. I had a M&P 15, but i ended up selling it and getting a Colt Carbine because the Colt was so much lighter.
Also: Practice, practice, practice.

For home defense i would not recommend a glock. Go with a judge or any other revolver that accepts a shotgun shell. You can get rat shot for different calibers guns as well. I also would go with a bird shot over buck.
My reasoning is as follows. You and your wife will probably be sound asleep when it happens, you will be disoriented when you wake up. Its hard to miss with a judge at close range with bird shot. If there is a weapon malfunction pulling the trigger will get you to the next shell.

What's the Smith and Wesson handgun that sucks? It was a line of them I thought that were known to be shitty.
