Yeah - pretty terrible and almost chased Smith out of the semi business, altogether. They used those failures to come up with their next Glock fighter, the M&P - which has been wildly successful for them - the reason their stock is doing so well is largely on the back of this product line and the new revenue it brings in.

glock 19 gen4 for me

glock 43 for the lady in my life.

/thread

ETA: both are 9mm and the term "glock 9" has to be from a rap song

Thanks. I knew there was one. So much bad press that when I was shopping I never looked at S&W. They were probably M&Ps but I never looked at them.

Got a CZ75 now.

OP I don't suggest it as a house gun over Glock. Unless your wife has been trained of has man hands. My wife hates mine as it is too heavy. There is a dick joke in there somewhere.

I have a youth sized 20 gauge for the wife. I don't trust her being able to hit anything with a pistol. I want her to be able to just point and shoot.

Have you ever gone to the range and patterned that thing?

I've never gone to the range, but I've patterned it, yes

I'm aware that you still have to aim shotguns

This is a myth, man. No matter what weapon you want her to use, she needs to know how to hit something with it.

And what did it look like at 5-7 yards?

So not really the super weapon people claim it to be, right?

Then why say:

quote:

I want her to be able to just point and shoot.

That's good. I hope you've also informed her that "point and shoot" is great for movies, but not so great for intruders.

The dangerous misconceptions about shotgun patterning by folks who allege basic (or greater) experience with firearms are frightening.

did I claim it to be a super weapon? just that I trusted her to be able to hit something with it rather than a pistol

she has shot both...I know which she is better

what the hell?

Still going to be a bigger pattern than a pistol or rifle.

she isn't shooting from the hip
