re: FEMA gave my friend $500

I’m sure I know the answer to this question, but has anyone spoken to a fema representative? I tried to call, did all the automated bullshite, they said they were connecting time to a rep and then I got the busy signal.

FYI: I’m a homeowner, with insurance, and make a decent income. Maybe I’m just DQ’d

I just tried again and estimated wait time was 100 minutes

I got through and explained that I applied last week but my miscellaneous is still showing as pending, the very annoyed lady said it's because of how I answered the questions...she said the computer automatically accepts or denies your application. I again told her mine was neither, it's pending...so she pulled it up and said it's not showing her anything either. She asked what parish I lived in and I told her EBR...she said anybody in EBR parish has to go through an inspection before they qualify for the $500.

I personally don't think she knows anything about it, but that was my convo with her.

Oh, I asked where we're supposed to submit the generator receipt and she said to just upload a hand written note with receipt...to where? I still never got a clear answer.

I just spoke with a lady about the pending Miscellaneous and she said I needed to submit a denied insurance claim in order for the pending status to change. I told her I had no home damage so I wouldn't be submitting an insurance claim. She said that I had to do that in order to gain any type of FEMA assistance. Judging by your post, and my experience, these people don't know wtf they are talking about it appears. I've decided it isn't worth the hassle so I'm just going to abandon my claim.

Yeah mine is still showing as eligible since 9/4 however the correspondence letter said it would be deposited in 24-48 hours. I spoke with someone today who got his 500 the day after he applied, so who knows wtf is happening

Pending, not approved, miscellaneous , whatever the frick it is listed as it's a big run round. People can say they have received the funds in their account but a dollar to a donut hole they are lying and haven't got shite. It's all a stall job to get people to give up. I contacted Sen Kennedy two days ago. No response.
Can't wait till he walks through the neighborhood again so I can laugh in his face.

This is your govt at work. The same people that want them to depend on them. Same thing. No significant damage, but flooded/blocked in for 5 days, still no electricity, took water in my garage ((not covered by my insurance ). Idgaf how much many anyone makes the assistance is to hemp people affected. I’m still not at work from clean up, lost 2 fridges of food, and spent over 600 on gas for generators. Denied I. The quickness snd given an sba loan app.

I spent 1:55 min on hold and was told the same. You have insurance and we need a denial letter before we can assist. Same thing on the generator have to submit the receipt. I’m sure there will be another excuse.

Called this morning and got through in 15 minutes

I’m still pending on my misc claim but I got a decision letter last night saying the 500 would be deposited into my account.
