I got 500 deposited. I was immediately denied and was like, "oh well". Next thing I know I had a random 500 dollar deposited probably 48 hours later. I checked the site after hearing of similar situations and sure enough, "miscellaneous" was showing as approved for 500.

As I said before I applied on the 2nd, was denied for the housing probably because I had insurance and sent the link for an SBA loan. I make about 100k now so not sure the income requirement. On the 4th it popped up I was eligible for the 500 miscellaneous check and that is now pending, assuming it will be deposited tomorrow since banks have been closed.

I agree with y'all that it's the $100k. I'm not an Ida victim, but I live in Houston and had major damage from the freeze. I have insurance and an income greater than $100 but less than $200.

I was also directed to get an SBA loan. Not worth it. But as y'all know, the problem with your insurance is that you have to upfront $$$ on a lot of things and then fight with insurance or send in lots of stuff to get it back. It's a sucky process. I'm still dealing with shite from February.

I don't think the call center has anything to do with the applications. all she did was ask me some questions, said she updated my application, then told me to appeal and within 4-5 days should be approved.

in short, I don't think they have any idea wtf is going on to be honest

I think the call center is only focused on housing and have no idea about the 500

I’m still pending on my misc claim but I got a decision letter last night saying the 500 would be deposited into my account.

A decision letter through snail mail or email? When did you apply?

They use info from public records, so if something doesn't match up or isn't updated there might be delays/denials. FRAUD is the concern and reason for seamingly random behavior from their systems.

I still show pending on my housing assistance. Says a fema rep has to come out and inspect the house I’m renting. Guess that’s got to be denied or accepted before Misc will show up

This is true. I didn't believe it but it is.
But the person that proved it to me today also goes around as a married couple with two kids. They didn't know that there is a tab in their account that shows a PDF application of their filing. I clicked on it and surprise , they are not married. They applied and file their income taxes separate with her claiming no job and two dependents. Who knows what else public assistance they get. The female turned red as a baboon's arse when I pointed it out to her.

This is totslly an aside and not to derail.

I’m a doctor in his last year of residency so I’m still renting.

It seems like owning your home and dealing with insurance and repairs and upkeep is a MAJOR pain in the arse. I would NOT have time for this jeez.

Maintaining a household is definitely a job, and more expensive than a lot of people expect. It pays to be handy and able to perform your own maintenance and upgrades.

This may have been answered but mine is saying turned down because I have insurance. I had minor roof damage that will almost certainly not reach my deductible but will definitely require repairs.

Am I just out of luck for FEMA?

I moved to Hammond in July. Left the Friday before the storm. Still don’t have power. Spent 5 nights in a hotel and the rest with family. Any chance I get this $500? I still don’t have power. I just did the application.

Edit: I rent it out no physical damage to my residence.

I applied last week and got auto-denial (renter, income short of 100k)

Checked this morning and an appeal had been filed and approved for rental assistance
