How do you define “interested”? The way I define it, it’s cheating.

Men don’t either, really but it depends on who you are as a person

What married woman would seek out a male personal trainer when there are so many female trainers available? Who likely understand the female body better, esp when it comes to toning up after having kids, etc.
I would question why she wanted to work with a male trainer. What could a man, who follows a different diet, with different fitness goals, with different body composition, possibly help her with that a female trainer can’t?
I have no reason to suspect she’d cheat, but ultimately, It would be a huge red flag of just why? Seems like nothing good could possibly come of it.

Where do you draw the line at "opportunity" if you're concerned about your partner/spouse cheating? No opposite contact at the gym? No female dental hygienist if you're a man because she might be too close to you during your dental appointment? No working with people of the opposite sex?
All of those scenarios are fine, obviously. I guess an example of one that isn’t is shacking up in a hotel room with a coworker on a work trip.
Where this personal trainer scenario falls on that spectrum is clearly up for debate, thus the thread.
I just think, as others have said, there’s some naïveté about human nature going on in here and I just think there’s times where it’s respectful to your partner and good practice to avoid certain situations.
Clearly not everyone agrees, and that’s fine too.

Very interesting point. Would you feel the same with a massage therapist? I will never go to a male massage therapist. I do have a lesbo therapist though.

but just because the spouse becomes interested in the trainer doesn’t mean there will be cheating.
No, but that’s always where an affair is going to start.
The argument being made is, why put yourself in that situation if it’s possible? What does one get from an opposite-sex trainer that he/she wouldn’t get from a same-sex one? And is it worth the risk? Some people will say “yes”, and that’s fine. But it’s probably not a great idea for someone to pretend the risk is zero.

I mean, if a guy gets a woman trainer - his first reaction is going to be his assessment of whether or not she’s’ frickable, right? That doesn’t mean he’s going to sleep with her or that she reciprocates those feelings.
Maybe. Maybe not.
Again, why should this guy put himself in constant contact with a woman in tights that he might find attractive, multiple times a week, when the alternative is the multiple male trainers that work there?
Again, there might be a good reason for it. Maybe she’s Jillian Michaels or some other GOAT trainer. But if the response is “just trust me babe, I got willpower” then I would consider that dude to be incredibly naive or dishonest. Or both.

Be better than the trainer. Even if she does screw him, she’ll want you more.

Most women trainers are retarded. Well, most trainers are retarded, but the chance a male is going to not be is a lot higher

That’s why I asked you how you define interested. Being superficially attracted to people is unavoidable. Letting that develop into interest is a choice.

Men understand that they’d rather be alone forever than be with a woman they can’t trust. Really, we would rather be in almost any situation than give ourselves to a woman that would cheat.
Can the same be said for women? I don’t think so. I think women throughout history have been just fine with being with men who would fool around on them given the opportunity.

So you’re a trainer when it’s not tax season?
Posted on 5/9/25 at 4:02 pm to BluegrassBelle
Truly do not understand why this is getting downvoted. People who are going to cheat are going to cheat, people who aren’t, won’t. It’s fairly simple.
All these guys saying they’d never allow it probably work with women all the time and would be pissed if their wives made it an issue.

Does she object to your Vietnamese massage therapist?

I'd just be happy she was going to a gym
Posted on 5/9/25 at 4:22 pm to Nayab
Absolutely, how the hell do I sign her up to go to the gym

No man worth his salt would choose to be with a faithless woman.

I said women throughout history. Not the women that are around today, who have been being psy-opped their whole lives.

Majority of affairs happen between coworkers.

If ole girl can pull a male trainer, hat tip from me

This. I’ve been doing it for 2 years. I’m in the best shape I’ve ever been in by far. The amount of alcohol and garbage food I quit consuming pretty much pays for it. And it’s an investment in my future and for my family.
To OP-no problem with it. She has one. He’s married with kids and I know him. And it’s by FaceTime because he’s in a city 300 miles away.

I get the last statement here, but to me their willingness to stay with a cheating husband throughout history had more to do with the fact that until the 20th century almost all women were completely dependent on their husbands. Not so much today
