So let me guess. They’ll force airlines to hire people too quickly, and the next time a plane crashes due to “negligence,” the same government will crucify the airline for not being prepared because of undertrained staff.

Ridiculousness of this happening because the wrong person missed a flight aside, this is a slippery slope that won’t end well.

FedGov micromanaging the airlines will definitely improve the service. J

The government is sticking their fat snouts more and more into the business of private companies, this is in no way their role.

US airlines have received a quarter trillion dollars in state/local/federal subsidies since 2000.

That’s just what airlines need to do…hire (more) under-qualified people.

the last 15 years or so they've all fired a bunch of qualified people and instead spent their numerous bailouts and COVID relief funds on stock buy backs.

their staff shortages are their own damn faults.

Fed mandated hiring quotas, quickly becomes more mandated diversity hires, in the passenger airline industry... can't see anything going wrong here.

The government will throw a few billion ant the airlines and they’ll hire more workers. They’ll also raise the prices due to hiring more workers. The days of seeing the cheapest round trip flight cost >$500 are coming fast.

Hey bro If you were a little older you would remember when they were completely regulated. Tickets were more but flying was action enjoyable

Deregulation had definite benefits, but turning planes into flying Greyhound buses and giving rise to the hub system are clear downsides.

they’ve also had 50% (from what i’ve read) of their experienced pilots retire or quit since 2020. A part of that was forced vaccine mandates because all airline employees are considered “federal contractors”

so, another government created problem, with the government proposing to take further control. perfect.

Lol, they gonna fix a problem they created with pressuring jab mandates. What they gonna do, force airlines to triple pay. Those ATCs and pilots ain’t coming back for less than major chedda.

The government is joke, a very bad one

Dude needs to settle down. He could have taken Amtrak or had someone drive him. And what are the feds going to do? Make the airlines hire a bunch of shitty people for numbers sake? Going to end up with the same quality of service as the TSA

So Buttplug is inconvenienced and now is going to take it out on the airlines. Hate to tell him but there are so many factors that play into manning flights. It’s not as simple as hire more pilots & flight attendants!

This is just the ripple effect of the federal government paying people to stay home and not work in hopes of a de facto raising of the minimum wage, and vote buying, and as is always the case, intervention of the federal government fricks up the homeostasis of capitalism. Will these idiots ever learn from their own past incompetence?

I appreciate that he’s drawing attention to how crappy air travel is right now. But he doesn’t have a real solution.

I wonder if he used an electric vehicle for the drive? If he did, I wonder why that wasn’t his first choice given the dire state of climate change. These fukers are beyond words.
