America is "awesome" to someone or those who don't deal with stuff like this due to their skin color. Assuming you're not black or a minority so you probably wouldn't know or have experience dealing with it. But ish gets old and tiring after a while.

America is a great place and can be a greater one but there is an underlining issue that still exist called racism and prejudice.

Funny how so many out there say this- but hardly any actually follow through with it.

Do it, or stop saying it.

These exist because of a lack of trust among the races.
I will guarantee you that racism will go away if the disproportionate amount of crime committed would go away.
Teach family values. Teach hard work.
You don't see whites, or rarely blacks, not trusting Asians, for there is nothing to not trust about them. The crime committed by Asians is largely non-existent, their care for family values is high.

But America still offers a much better life then some of the countries mentioned in the OP.

Of course I’m speaking from personal experience, but I’m a minority living in the Deep South. This country has issues but so does every country. I don’t see it as worth getting up and moving.

No.

This attitude is what will keep the cycle going. Using racism and prejudice as an excuse is just that.

An excuse.

Every nation and society has folks who don’t like other folks for whatever reason. That’s life. You can bitch and moan and cry whatever ‘ism you want. It’s not going to go away, that is human nature - whether you like it or not. I don’t give a shite what anyone thinks of me.

You should try that.

This is at least the second story on this theme to appear this year. Huff Post also had an earlier version that was a subtle PR effort by some American women who had chosen to return to Africa and had set up a company to tell (for a price) other AAs how to go home and fit in, or at the very least get along.

A gentle hint would include reading about Ebola and its spread in that part of Africa, just to get a feeling for how things work and don't work there.

Yawl have 10 children from 10 different black men, and none of the donors stick around to be fathers....Where's your self "respect"?

I'm glad you said this:

So I can copy/paste my post from earlier in this thread:

quote:

Oppression in 2020 US is a myth. If a person is oppressed in this country these days it is because they are trying to be oppressed.

You can be born into a free/nearly free home. You can be fed with free food. You can be taken care of with free healthcare (Medicaid). You will go to a free daycare. You can have a bus come pick you up at that home for free and go to a free public school. At that school you can eat free meals. You can then go to free after school programs. Then, another free bus can take you home.

IF, you go to that school, apply the least bit of effort, and stay out of trouble, you will graduate. If you graduate and have no felonies, you will be given grants to attend college. You will have multiple colleges to choose from. If you go to college, apply the least bit of effort, and stay out of trouble, you will graduate with no debt.

After you graduate college, you will enter a job market that is 100% catered to you. Corporations, whether by choice or mandate, will be bending over backward to hire you. Once hired, you will work in an environment catered to you and you will have the backing of HR, FOR LIFE.

In summation, if you claim to be oppressed in the United States of America in the year 2020, you can frick right the hell off.

So America is awesome for 99.9% of the population? Racism is so bad here, we have hoaxes faking racism because the supply doesn't meet the demand
