I’ve heard the last iteration of the Tacoma is HORRIBLE for reliability.

The only thing I regret is the gas milage

How about those square wheel wells? Pretty sure everyone regrets that.

Damn Tacoma sales figure jumped 50K to 245K(2018).

Tunda 118K.

4-Runner 140K.

Since the refresh in '16 they have been much less reliable than the typical Tacoma however they still remain more reliable than anything in class save the Ridgeline. The biggest issue with the current Tacoma is it is just woefully old.

I have two Canyons (the GMC Colorado variant) in our fleet.

I’ve had two Colorados, currently have a Canyon. Never had issues with either used Colorado but for some air conditioning inconsistency in the one with nearly 200K miles. They’re pretty well known for their reliability.

The new model canyon has been great. And they’re the best priced with best gas mileage. The Nissan would be a close second.

The old 4.0L models were very sturdy. The new ones have pissed off a lot of Toyota faithful.

The 4Runner is still using the old setup. It’s tough as nails.

Go full size. Not much more $. Mid size is terrible bang for the buck.

I would drive a Colorado diesel. It’s one of the only mid sized trucks with a 4x4 setting that doesn’t turn off the active traction control when engaged. That makes it ideal for Chicago winters. It’s pretty popular up here.

I don’t need the ZR2 package, but I do need four wheel drive and traction control.

I love the Tacoma, but if you are over 6' 4" like 98% of us here then you need to look at the Colorado/Canyon.

If Jeep came out with a diesel gladiator I’d be a lot more open to them.

Those that like the gladiator only like it because they can run 35s stock

The 5' bed is beginning to push the definition of a pickup. Much like the Ridgeline they seem to be designed for people that for some reason want to own a "pickup" but don't want to drive a pickup, albeit a different demographic.

My taco is about to turn 6 and he’s still a beauty. Fun to drive, good for weekend project and helping all 20 of my closest friends move, great for off roading. Love trail running, hiking and fishing with this bad boy.

Will buy another down the road.
