He told me what I already know that people are addicted to fast food and will basically pay whatever they have to to get it. He has a pal that owns several McDonalds who told him it wouldn’t matter if a Big Mac was $20 because there is a large segment of America that will still pay it because they are addicted
This is the answer. For those hating on fast food corporations for "being greedy", try reading a book on basic economics. If fat arse Americans will pay $20 for fast food then that's what companies will charge. Equilibrium has been achieved. If I ran a burger joint and people will pay $50 for a combo meal, why would I charge less? If Americans don't like it, don't buy it and prices will eventually come down.
The same people bitching about fast food prices are the same ones sitting in the drive thru lines, eating that garbage twice a day, every day.

Canes issue is inflation and shrinkflation, but Todd Graves isn’t worried his empire has blossomed into a 7.5 billion dollar chicken empire.
Next thing you know they may knock a finger off each combo instead of raising prices.

Inflation is controlled by the suppliers who are controlled by fast food corporations.

Earlier this year McDonalds sparked a national outrage when in a Connecticut location they charged 18$ plus tax for a big max combo. This is the same company that made over 14 billion in pure profit last year.
That's not surprising considering that Connecticut's minimum wage is $15.69 beginning 01/01/24.

It’s funny because you can go hit the lunch specials at a place like chilis for example and pay the same as you’d pay at fast food. You get twice as much actual food.
Chilis has a lunch deal like $10.99 you get an appetizer, fries burger and a drink.

For McDonalds it was brilliant marketing. The kids meals etc brainwashed a lot of folks, like Disney has.
Walmarts have run out all of the small town stores. It’s sadly all empty buildings now. We all fell for this trap. Should have kept the money in your local area instead of making one family filthy rich.

Agreed. In case anyone is curious he next few in line behind McDonald’s at one were 2. Wendy’s 3. Arby’s 4. Pizza Hut 5. Baskin Robins
Notice who’s not on the list? Canes. They’ve been charging high prices the entire time. The rest of the industry is finally catching up

Dude fast food in any city has been paying $15/hr for a while. It's been like that for years in lake charles and a big Mac isn't $18.
I would like to see franchise profits for McDonald's though instead of McDonald's Corp.
If McDonald's Corp made $14 billion profit that means those franchise owners are paying them a lot

Company I work for has a corporate office in Connecticut and almost everyone in there lives in Massachusetts except for Director level employees and Massachusetts isn’t exactly cheap either but it is far cheaper than Connecticut.

I love their fish sandwiches and curly q's, but only get them on Fridays during Lent. I might go there a little more often if I didn't have to fight my way down through Sherwood traffic and back.

We can feed all 4 members of my family with a Jersey Mike’s Giant sub. Of course the sub we order is 2000 calories if you consume the entire thing it also cost right around $20.

Just a few days ago I went to Wendy's and a 3 meals cost about 35 bucks. Nothing fancy.
The same day we stopped by Sam's club and picked up a 4 pack of nice sirloin steaks for around 30.00 bucks. You can eat steak cheaper than fast food if you know how to cook.
If you don't know how to cook or cook well this is the time to learn.
Convivence is nice but frick those prices.
