A California restaurant owner is trying to dig herself out of a PR nightmare, after a Yelper exposed the restaurant for repurposing Popeyes chicken tenders as part of one of its brunch dishes.
Yelper Tyler Hiebert discovered the fast food chicken use, writing in an Oct. 9 review that he saw workers at the Long Beach eatery "quickly bring in two large boxes of Popeyes" into the kitchen. Hoping that it was perhaps food for the workers, he ordered the chicken and waffles (noting that it "tasted suspiciously like Popeyes") and a waiter confirmed that it was Popeyes.
And for this, the restaurant charges $12.95 for the dish.

Got to pay for all that overhead capital so I think that part makes sense. You have to pay the delivery fees and all that jazz.

They can't drop their own frozen tenders into a vat of oil?
Liberals.
Liberals.

That will make a heck of a commercial for Popeyes!

I didn't know that they were even on the West Coast. Even at $13 for some tenders, that's way better than an In and Out burger.

Any truth to the urban myth that the Red Beans and Rice at Copeland's arrives there in Popeye's plastic bags?

It wouldn't be hard to believe. Diversified Foods makes the red beans used by Popeyes. Until recently, Al Copeland owned DF. He was also the founder of all theee brands.
