Some of the sweetest dogs I've been around have been pits, but also been around some pure psycho ones. I blame the dumbasses who continue to breed them even tho every pound is completely full of them.

Yet another person confusing racism with pattern recognition.

Just more evidence that no one should regard the advice of an actor above that of bus driver, welder, or janitor. Hell, those professions command critical thought. I put them above a famous, professional liar who's only skill is to memorize what someone else wrote, and repeat it.

Which breed has a history of deaths associated with it? As in, far more than most other breeds combined?

Being wary of a breed that has a history of danger is self preservation.

Unfortunately that’s his only talent. He was completely out of place in the odyssey

He's been in a lot more than just those two things though.

Dude's a pretty good actor.

I think a lot of it comes down to the people that own them. Trashy people love pits, no way around that. But if all of a sudden trashy people decided they loved golden doodles, we would have a bunch of badly bred and aggressive golden doodles running around.

Actors tend to get a skewed sense of reality.

Reading about pit bull attacks and this page says a fire extinguisher might be your best bet--well a gun carries the risk that you miss the pit bull and hit a person being attacked. Fire extinguisher--hissing noise, foaming spray, and can be used as a blunt force weapon if the spray fails.

Puts gun at 80 percent effective, fire extinguisher at 70 percent.

Pit Bull Attack Defense

These things are a nightmare if they attack you. Bred to fight to the death, kill or be killed, so hitting them while they're attacking just causes them to bite harder.

They can snap at any moment for no reason at all.

Crazy response from a doctor responding to the dog racism quote:

'One of the most common calls I get from the ER are for dog attacks - 99% pit bulls.

Mostly these are family pits who all the sudden just snap.

I've seen kids with chewed out eyeballs and scalped faces.

One time there was a kid who got bit in the face - one cheek with a perfect childhood dimple, the other cheek nothing but blood and gore.

Very rare to see kids after suffering a prolonged attack since they're dead at the scene. But adults often survive prolonged attacks.

There was one lady - middle aged, relatively large - who agreed to watch a friend's pit bull. She got attacked in her garage. She showed up with both arms and one leg partially amputated, nearly all the skin of her anterior chest and abdomen was ripped from the underlying fascial layers.

This is all to say that every time I go to the park with my kid, I carry a Glock 19 - partially for protection against societal dregs/third-worlders but more so for protection against their dogs.'
