I am sitting in silence. Absolute, glorious silence. No kids yelling, no chatter, no tv. Not even a dog snoring. It is beautiful. That is all.

I’m still at my parents. Been here for a week.
Kids are playing upstairs. Mom made a huge breakfast. Fire is roaring. Duck nachos are on the menu for lunch.
Me and Dad have settled into recliners for a day full of football.
It’s glorious.

Family left yesterday. House is clean and refrigerator is full of leftovers. Husband will be in the recliner all day watching football. Very stress free indeed.

Same but I am lamenting the fact. The last two days of Thanksgiving get-togethers were great and I would be elated if it went on for two more days. I do get tired of family and friends at some point but two days is not even close to the point where I want to retreat into solitude.

My poor 13 year old dog was so worn out after 15 people’s antics that he’s been sleeping almost nonstop since Thursday
