Family forged a will for my father.

Sadly, my father very unexpectedly passed away this past week. Everything has been really civil this past week with my dads side of the family who I haven’t spoken with in many years. When it came time to split everything between my siblings and I were told to get off the property by my uncle. My dad only rented the property and I wasn’t trying to cause a scene. Fast forward one day after this instant and now that side of the family is claiming they have his will. I know this is a lie and am wondering what my plan of action should be. Any OT lawyers have any advice? State is Texas if that helps at all. I’m 100% sure my father didn’t have a will as we talked almost every day about what our plans were for the day.

I would definitely go see an attorney. If they attempt to probate the will, then you will likely have to mount a will contest, and you will need an attorney for that.

I'm sorry about your dad. Best of luck on that situation. Would be a lot better if your dad had a will in this case.

Had not heard anything about my uncle for years until he was recently charged for killing a woman. I’d like to stay away from that crazy. Unfortunately even though some of us grow to be successful adults, us unlucky ones are stuck with shite bags for family.
