Seems like forging a will is a lot of effort and risk for this payoff.

Sadly, spending a lot of time and money investigating something you may be wrong about, however improbable, also might not be worth it.

I can honestly say, I would hire you as a lawyer sight unseen.

No BS.

I’m pretty good at what I do, but I hope you would never have to hire me. That’s means you’d be pretty injured and I wouldn’t wish that on you

In Texas you have the right to see the will. But if there is an administrator appointed they do not have to show you an accounting of the assets unless there is cause, as in l evidence of a problem.

As others have said get an attorney who specializes in estate law in Texas.

As for the will it has to be notarized. if your father died suddenly you need evidence that it was signed and notarized on the date stated.

Be prepared to spend a lot of money on a very good lawyer.

Spend $5K fighting the relatives for $20k of property that has probably walked off already and anything you get you have to split with your sister, any other siblings, mom/step mom? Only thing OP will be doing is bitch about it here.

I tell folks when I refer them to a family lawyer to not pay the lawyer $200 an hour to fight about a $100 coffee table. Sounds like similar principle here

I’ll almost guarantee that if they have a willl, it is not signed by your dad…and almost certainly not filed at the local courthouse. Unless your father had a wife or he willed his possessions to someone else, you and your siblings are his next of kin. Don’t waste your time arguing with the folks that are trying to steal from you. Lawyer up and have them direct all communications to your attorney. I am very sorry about the loss of your father.
