everyone i know that spends a lot of time on facebook just seems angrier and more full of hate than they were before. of course that could also be because they are getting older and turning into grumpy old men.

None of it is about white people bad, as I understand it. It’s all about Facebook bad. Which they are. Almost objectively. This site was in near unanimous agreement about that until seemingly right at the moment this thread was posted. The responses in this thread are baffling

yep. i dont know how anyone could think that promoting content that inspires anger/hate is a good thing because it's not censorship. it is still something just as evil
The word you're looking for is propaganda.

Didn't see the peice. But did they cite intances of hate created by or targeting Leftists? I can't ever recall seeing one. The presumption is hate creation/targets are all on the "far-right".

The fact that many are flat-out scared to identify themselves as conservatives tells us that there is a ton of hatred created and target to the Left. Yet... you never hear about it.

The world would be a better place if Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, tick tock, and the rest ceased to exists.

Not specifically but someone with a functioning brain cell could make that link. They were very specific that the algorithms promote content that will elicit an emotional response.

Similar to what happens on here lately where everything becomes political and emotional.

The FB content you receive in your feed is based on your historical activity.

not actively promoting divisive content in order to generate more money is not the same thing as censorship.

You can change Facebook by altering your life or searches. The same way you can with Google ads.

Most people are too stupid to realize this tho. If you want to see less of something then do a few searches across the internet for random things look for new things on Facebook and Instagram and then voila. Suggestions will change.

They aren't going away. Can't put the genie back in the bottle here.

Too many conservatives people on the right say "get off of Facebook and Twitter!". It's a terrible idea. It's a surrender. The better solution is for everyone to get on there and get loud. They can't ban everyone and survive.

Can we end the charade that Facebook is a private company? There has been a concerted effort between the American political establishment and big tech to herd political communications and speech into a small number of "private" platforms who actively discriminate against any view or position that is contrary to the establishment's position. Facebook is the American government's most effective weapon against a free-thinking population.

I mostly use facebook for local history groups, and some music. The suggestions I get from FB are all related to those topics; no political pushes.

I do hate the new algorithms they put in place in 2018 though. I give one polite "like" to some old person I know, and my feed will be flooded from their posts instead of funny real life friends.

Unfollow. Had to do that to my aunt today... I do it for anyone that starts politics. I just want my grilling, chilling, fermenting, and fishing stuff to show up.

Can't believe you get away with your lying on here about being a "republican".

First of all, all I did was post this. That doesn't mean I agree with everything that is in this story.

And I said I am a registered Republican. This is an absolute fact. Why would I lie about what party I am registered as?

When you take assumptions and speak about them as if they are fact it makes you look like a moron.
