You can make money at home doing things on the internet. Ebay, Only Fans, whatever. Most people don't make a lot of money doing this. Most jobs don't pay a whole hell of a lot either. You can either sit at home on your computer and be poor, or go flip burgers at Burger King and be poor. Which would you choose?
The fact is the get up off the couch price has gotten higher especially since the pandemic. Companies are just going to have to pay people more money, or they just won't have people

We have made life entirely too comfortable for those without a job.
In fact, life for a person making 15 dollars an hour and life for a person sitting home getting benefits is the same except the lazy person sitting at home doesn’t have to work.
I propose we take aid away from the unemployed and give it to the working poor. You must work 40 hours a week to be eligible for food stamps, section 8, Medicaid, etc…..
Sitting at home should result in being hungry, homeless, and motivated to start working.

They probably left their job and left the state to get a better job.

This won’t work. The majority with just get the money given to them by their boomer parents.

Did they quit and find other jobs or did they quit and stop working all together?

Our government has made it too easy for people with little education and low paying jobs. For years people have realized it's easier to quit and live off the system.

Why would you stay in Louisiana if you weren't stuck here for some reason? This state sucks.

Millions of illegal immigrants are pouring over our borders. Most eager to work for the current wage. They may not completely fill those positions, but they’ll fill a lot of them.
If we’d ever quit rewarding people for not working, you wouldn’t see this level of quitting.

The women are cleaning in lingerie and making 7 figures.

People have been talking about the pending crisis of boomer retirement for 15-20 years. There will be a labor shortage for the next decade or more.

Yep. Finally escaped last spring and immediately found a job paying me 35% more here in Alabama.
Fact of the matter is most of these jobs are bottom-dweller jobs like grocery clerk and fast food employee. None of those people get paid enough to give a frick about their jobs.

Have always believed this, and also if a woman receiving those entitlements has a daughter who gets pregnant as a teen, then the entitlements are taken from the mother and given to the daughter.

Just know the motor scooter lady in Walmart, who is 55 and disabled due to being 450 pounds, thanks you for your hard work

Exactly this
The gig has given the low/no skilled worker options. They can deliver food, groceries, or products and drive folks around all while setting their own hours and getting paid daily.
The fast food industry has been impacted the most.
