O&G workers have to pay the same fuel prices as you. And there is no real benefit to them when oil prices rise, but a significant detriment when prices fall.

Or any number of things. Would It hurt if it went back up? Of course not, we are financially stable. The average non oil field American would be insane to not be happy about this. Hell, that is 3600 a year any way you cut it. It's a dog eat dog world. No one feels sorry for any other industry in a down turn. My immediate family is not affected so screw the rest

When oil companies were making record profits they didn't give a shite about the common man. Tell your execs to take a pay cut to help the workers when the market is down.

A lot of them in Texas have company gas cards.

ETA: I'm sure they could only be used for work purposes.

I hate to see people lose their jobs and it's hard on the area I live in. But stop pretending like low oil prices are bad for everyone. $3.50 per gallon gas was hard on a lot of people too.

Let me explain it for the OT. Relatively high income earners lose their jobs or get worried about job loss, they stop spending, consumer spending goes down and we all suffer. Yet you guys are doing the peanut butter and jelly Dance to save a few dollars on gas.

lol...

Are you at all aware of sample sizes? This is so misguided that it's not even worth a rebuttal. That said, I do feel bad for those that have lost jobs.

And consumer spending doesn't go down when the hundreds of millions non-O&G workers are paying double/triple on gas?

The sword cuts both ways.

People who work in volatile industries should prepare for downturns. And this is coming from someone in the O&G industry.

I'm assuming you're referencing "humble humbert"...

Didn't think anyone on the OT knew how to read anything that didn't involve anal with another poster's mother.

If he has a reason to claim asylum, he should. And if he deserves it, he will be offered. And if he can't, he can go back to Venezuela where he'd be wealthy.
