I don’t know why anyone is shocked by this. Over half the city council are avowed marxists who want to abolish private property and capitalism. The mob is doing the work for them so of course they’re going to hamstring the police.

If this letter is real, Seattle business owners do not need a riot or destruction of property in order to file suit.

I think"backing the blue" is different than caring about law and order.
Police forces in America are not created by governments to punish the public (which many believe), they are for protection of the people and service to the people. You will never see a police department put up a precinct in an area that it's not needed. The moneys aren't there. Police departments aren't a "want to have" group, they are a " have to have" group.
All the folks that hate the police are the very ones we have to have the police.
I will bet my life's savings that if crimes suddenly dropped to near zero across the country, police forces would rapidly shrink.
