Not a chance. First off, the type of person inclined to vote for the politicians who would enact this lunacy aren't the type of person to arm themselves. Secondly, any owner who does protect themselves and property with a firearm will get treated like the St. Louis couple.

But seriously, This is absolutely absurd. I understand that it’s pretty liberal in that part of the country but they cannot be that naive to think that anything good will come of this. If I was governor, I’d send in the National Guard and wipe this out

Simply put. The city council/mayor took the tools to deal with violent crowds out of the police’s tool belt and the Chief has decided the voters can live with the outcome of their elected officials decision. The chief is standing up for his officers which is a good move on his part. Further, he gave the business owners in the areas about to burn a heads up.
