Every brick and mortar should institute the ability to pay in 4

If they want to survive against the internet.
Say my car craps out on a/c and needs a new compressor, $1000, don’t reply me with that’s high it’s just an example.
Ok, $1000 I can do that without putting on a credit card and no transfer from savings let’s pay it from checking. No biggie
But say in the next two days my wife’s car has the same issue. Maybe her car is a harder make and model to get parts and labor for, it’s $1500. Well shite that’s $2500 in two days I’m dropping out of the checking account.
I’m not poor but I’m not rich either, if that auto place allowed pay in 4 I would only throw down $375 up front no interest with the rest due over 3 payments. Maybe pay the rest off in a single swoop next pay period and ease the burden of that $2500 hit in two days.
I keep a good cushion in checking for emergencies, but if every brick and mortar allowed for pay in 4 I think it’d be amazing.
I get so much online as it is, and for big time purchases pay in 4 is nice. I’m
Not tryna pay in 4 for a damn door dash. If you do that, rethink your life.
Would this help brick and mortars in your opinion or are they fricked regardless?

I'm not sure the auto place down the road is competing with the internet

I'm surprised how much installment options have spread all over the internet.
Like, "buy this t-shirt in 4 easy payments!"

Are you using Door Dash's four payment financing for a meal?

There's companies that provide that. Sezzle (SEZL stock, amazing fundamentals BTW). You prob can't do that at a auto shop. But on bigger companies you can.
Actually they do have an Auto part on their site. They won't have mom and pops, but maybe larger automotive chains.
Affirm Holdings does that as well and has an Auto part on their site.

I believe Domino's now offers 4 monthly installments for people like you that need to finance a pizza.

You should check out YouTube and do it yourself.

You can’t pay with a credit card?

Are saying they should just allow you to make payments in 4 intervals? Why would they do in-house financing at 0%? Most larger repair shops will offer financing with approved credit.

Your insanity is palpable. Take a break.

4 what, days, weeks, months, installments?
Imagine if you could pick up your car from a repair shop without paying the bill….. 60% of louisianians would never pay the other three payments.
Who is this policy better for? If you want a/c, pay for it. If you can’t pay, sweat. You expect the shop to finance your bills and take the risk with no interest and no recourse.
Use your credit card and let the folks that sign up to finance your debt do it.
