Going thru and I've seen a couple of businesses that I'm very familiar with and see they took the loans and we're also approved by local banks that the owners sit on the boards of.

Hmmm.....

You get to apply for 2.5 times your average monthly payroll

Catholics monthly payroll is easily north of 750k

My primary concern is those that committed fraud to obtain PPP money.

Trust me when I tell you those are being investigated by banks. Whatever law enforcement does with the results of these investigations is out of the banks' hands.

Correct and the 1st round was to cover payroll and expenses for 3 months...the 2nd round you were able to spread it out over 6 months and were able to use it for more payroll and not payroll and expenses. The 2nd round was a little more loosey goosey. We got the same amount for both rounds.

Yes, but Catholic is in a business of private tuition that was either already pre-paid on an annual basis or didn't exactly just stop even with the monthly pay parents. So back those out and I think the original poster questioning the need for $2M could be a valid question. Not just for CurDog land, but for all schools like this in general.

2 companies I know received it aren't in the listing for Alabama, I'd assume they missed a whole bunch of others.

I have no shame. My company received a little over $400k. I could be exact, but then that would out me, even though some posters know my business already.

It saved at least 20 jobs, maybe more. I was literally within days of laying off employees when our PPP got funded. I had my layoff list prepared and letters already drafted. If you've ever wanted to feel like a giant piece of shite, try going through a company roster of good men and women and deciding what family gets fricked through no fault of their own and what family doesn't. I didn't sleep for a week thinking about all the good people I was about to hurt. The PPP funds allowed us to get through the worst of it and come out the other side. 100% was spent on payroll.

We received word a few weeks ago that we were forgiven the entire loan amount. Sorry not sorry.

You shouldn't. You used it exactly for its intended use which was to stave off massive layoffs and unemployment.

One of my friends has an eerily similar story. He has worked his guys forever and knows all the families. He was distraught. Got ppp and used it all for payroll also. Saved jobs.

There really is no reasoning here. I get it, you are an alum of Catholic or have a kid there. If you can't understand what I said then it's really no point in having this discussion.

So let's just elevate to the 30k view to alleviate your bias for one school. The And? as you said is only a blind fool could not see that books were cooked and manipulated to squeeze out free money from the Gubment.
