My daughter is 2 and just started day care. She’s not a mean kid but she loves to wrestle and she laughs anytime I swat her leg, but this week 3 days into going to daycare she’s already tackled another kid, hit a kid and put a kid in a chokehold. The workers said it wasn’t out of jealousy over a toy or because she was mad but she did it just because she thought it was funny. I told them to punish her however they need to but I just don’t understand how a two year old girl is naturally violent. Will she grow out of this as long as we keep constantly disciplining her and should I stop play wrestling with her?

At that age, kids mimic what they see at home.

Some people are innately violent, male or female. Let her be what she is, but teach her about acceptable boundaries. It's possible she grows out of it, but if she doesn't, she should know how and when to handle herself. Better she understand that then hate you for trying to break her of it.

She learned wrestling is affection. It is a lot of fun to roughhouse with very young children but it doesn't teach them any limits because outside of a ball hit or an accidental eye gouge they can't hurt you.

Get her in BJJ asap then MMA when she’s older.

Yeah I’ve been trying to beat it out of him but it doesn’t seem to be helping. I guess I’m not punching and whipping hard enough.

My youngest used to beat the shite out of my two oldest when she was 2-4. She even said “Sometimes I like to hurt people” to my sister once.

Two years later, she’s still feisty but grew out of most of the hitting/hurting others. So, just wait it out.

Honestly if it were my kid I’d sleep better knowing she’s not the one being choked out lol

I love how parents always take credit for their children that are well behaved, studious, athletic, successful.

But if their kid is violent, criminal, lazy, stupid then the kids are just "naturally violent" and it has nothing to do with the parents.
