That’s it? You asked one question. I answered. What conversation did you want from me?

There are probably more freight ships anchored off America’s west, north west and east coast then there has been in the last 100 years, waiting to unload the stuff we are short of, makes you wonder who is keeping them from docking.

My fridge went out in August and I got one from Lowe's in two days. Maybe that's just because I am on Long Island, but I thought that was reasonable. I could have gotten one same day if I wanted to pay 50 dollars more at Sears but I had no reason I couldn't wait.

third world

Third world is used to refer to shithole countries, but did you know that the origin of that designation had nothing to do with economic viability or success?

quote:

The term "Third World" arose during the Cold War to define countries that remained non-aligned with either NATO or the Warsaw Pact. The United States, Canada, Japan, South Korea, Western European nations and their allies represented the "First World", while the Soviet Union, China, Cuba, Vietnam and their allies represented the "Second World". This terminology provided a way of broadly categorizing the nations of the Earth into three groups based on political and economic divisions. Since the fall of the Soviet Union and the end of the Cold War, the term Third World has decreased in use. It is being replaced with terms such as developing countries, least developed countries or the Global South.

Was just curious what life or professional experiences brought you to the point of flying off the handle at someone observing the reality of the current consumer product situation we're in. OP became someone you had already invented in your head. "It's the customer's fault" seemed like a strange and pointless take.

I’m glad the house we just bought had an attached smaller 2 bedroom mother in law apt that came with all appliances.

So we have 2 fridges, 2 stoves, 2 washer/dryers, 2 dishwashers. And there is separate central heat and air units and separate water heaters.

We are just gonna knock a wall out and put a door in to make one big connected house. And if something goes out I can just use the one in the apt until a replacement comes in

We see and hear about logistical nightmares, high housing markets, etc every single day and the news explains why. I figured if someone had turned on a TV, listened to a radio, or sat in a coffee shop in the last 18 months they would be aware of the situation we’re living in. I’m sorry I “flew off the handle” and offended you.

Can we start over?

Hi ??

You didn't offend me. You said you hated the guy. I found that curious.

Nothing about the OP indicated my a lack of awareness of the situation. I was simply querying as to how long we could expect it to continue and whether it should be basically expected to do so indefinitely going forward.

You ultimately came around to giving your opinion that we seem to be screwed, after saying you hated me for my query.

Thanks...I guess.

It was a simile. Like they teach in grade school if you use the words “like” or “as”. Don’t hate Y.A. personally, just consumers that can’t understand how the world changed bC of Covid.

Bought a chainsaw from homedepot for cutting the trees. It’s been in “delivery” for 2 weeks now. Was supposed to be here last Monday. WTF

Everyone decided to trim trees at the same time in their new suburban homes with the stimmy checks they got last year.

Same reason the small replacement part for my primo just shipped today after being ordered in early August.

It sucked when our A/C compressor went out, took a couple of weeks to come in, then we had to wait for a control board after that because it popped when they were changing the compressor...

1 guy at the dock gets covid, his whole shift has to go home. Rinse, repeat.
