FWIW, a great many of them already do.

We allowed our politicians to ship our manufacturing overseas and this is the result.

One of my handy rules of economics: A country which does not make enough of its own shite eventually becomes the bitch of the country/ies making it for them.

it’s simply a supply and demand problem.

Never said anything was "simple" about it. In fact I included the caveat that supply/demand are obviously influenced by the unusual shite going on for the last 18 months.

Appreciate the free rent though.

Companies will still use Covid as an excuse to have shitty customer service, but I think this is going to jump start people 3d printing minor parts if it's still like this a year from now.

Unfortunately mostly it’s just the last 7-8 months

What has changed with regard to demand for replacing broken household appliances? It doesn’t really make sense to me.

Bought a new house. That people that bought the old house wanted the appliances. Old fridge, but new dishwasher, washer, and dryer. Thank god we went out and bought new appliances two months before we moved in the new house, because Lowe's quoted us 2-3 months. Everything came in a week after we moved in.

Maybe demand has changed a little due to more people working from home and using appliances more, but obviously damn near everything is in short supply. Hopefully this is the push we need to bring some manufacturing back here.

sounds like a lack of "pickup" problem not a supply problem...for a hundred bucks...i am sure somebody in white castle will rent you her truck.

Guessing that you ordered local. You could drive an hour or two and pick up a fridge today at a Lowe's, Home Depot, or other store. I live between Lafayette and Opelousas. All locations around here have plenty of fridges in stock from what I have seen.

If you only have a car, then sorry about your situation.

It's not a customer service issue at all. Raw and base materials are the hardest to get its ever been in my career. The supply chain is so twisted up, it's going to be 2023 before things level out, you can't even get ballpark dates for certain things. All the while, prices are sky rocketing up the chain. Our major suppliers are just now starting to convert their "temporary" surcharges into permanent price increases while signaling they aren't increasing enough, even still, to offset their increased costs and to expect more increases in future. The consumer is going to start seeing these increases across the board soon. Some things we buy have gone up 100% yoy. At the same time, no one wants to work, so you can't expand without automation, if it's something that can't be automated, you are sol. Oh and by the way, components for automation and advanced machinery is also out as long as 24 months from some companies my company works with.

It's a perfect recipe for disaster. I'm watching the peaks of spot pricing for aluminum, steel, and resin and such keep getting pushed out farther and farther. Now most spot pricing starts dipping again in 1q 2023. It's not going to dip at this point, this is the new base imo.

It's going to get alot worse before it gets better.

I bought a new microwave in July. The ring that the glass plate rides on was broken out of the box. It took almost two months to get another sent to me.

I get the vast majority of my stuff in 3 days, and I have something coming almost every single day. 2 things yesterday, Sunday. Are you ordering stuff from Asia? Most of my stuff is Amazon prime.

What are you ordering almost every single day? Refrigerators and shite every day?

I'd prefer to go back to when supply logistics weren't a consumer level issue.

My 2019 Sierra broke down on me a few weeks ago. I was told by the dealership that it was a fuel pump module and that I may be without my truck until next Spring due to the part being on backorder. After I bitched for about a week they called and told me that my truck was fixed.

Yeah if your refrigerator or washing machine goes out you’re pretty much fricked for 6 months

Took over a month to get a hand mixer. I should have just ordered online, but kept waiting for one to show up in the store.
