In.
She's an awesome wife, mother, and friend. Truly.
Marriage is great if the spouse is great. I can't fathom being married to someone I didn't love.

Married almost 17 years here. The first 7 years or so were rough and we argued quite a bit. Usually over money. After our second kid, she had an IUD put in and our sex life went from 1-2x per week to once every 3-4 months. That went on for 5 years.
She had it removed. Sex life picked up a little. We started going on more dates. Now, I cannot keep this woman off of me. She wants it every day, multiple times a day. This has been going on for about 4 years. I'm waiting for the day the switch turns back off.

I had a conversation with mine last night about how long we'd been together and that it blows my mind how we still like each other most of the time.
When we were first dating she was crazy/chaotic and in desperate need of stability, but was great with kids. 14 years later with a family now, and its been one of the best choices I've ever made.
Having said all of that, it could all change tomorrow.

It seems there are a lot of posts out there that paint marriage as some sort of death trap.
I'm truly sorry for the fellas that have experienced a bad marriage, but I fear younger folks might get completely turned off the notion of matrimony.
It's not all bad.
For me, marriage is the 2nd best thing to ever happen to me.
Don't despair guys, there ARE good women out there.
That doesn't mean they (and we) don't have our faults and that there won't be some rough spots, but do your due-dilligence, be smart, cover your arse and marriage can be a g
I agree

My wife is awesome. She loves God, me, our kids, and she "makes me a better man". She really is my better half. We both wear many hats, but she appreciates my roll as protector/provider, and I appreciate her role as the nurturer. I have made her stronger, and she saved my faith. Raising kids with my wife been the biggest blessing in my life.

My wife is awesome. We both worked hard to get to where we are in our relationship and we are very happy where we are.
The threads about people being miserable in their life seem to be so common on the OT. It's not exclusive to people complaining about their marriage....but it's people complaining about their jobs, city, football team, etc without being even the least bit constructive. Just complaining and venting.

Wife is awesome and marriage for the long run is work, but it is not hard. The one rule we set for each other from day 1 was that no matter what happens, we agree to treat each other well.
After 27 years we are still married and still enjoy each other's company.

23 years tomorrow and I’d do it all again in a heartbeat. I’m a much better man because of her.
Not saying it’s perfect, not saying it’s for everyone, but marriage is almost always worth the effort.
22 years in June for me, but I concur with everything you said. My wife is absolutely my best friend and I don't know what I'd do without her. I pray I never have to figure that out.

Definitely the best thing that happened to me . I used to be quite the shithead running through girls and booze at an incredible pace …
Happily married for 11 years and 2 beautiful kids now.
Life if good!

Post menopause ?
So we're talking a woman in her late 50's or older?
Why would anyone want to have sex with a woman that old ?

Wife is crazy but she is faithful and we generally get along well. Needs to put on a few pounds but she has aged well.
