I got it. Endymion needs to collect $20 from each member and pay off Destroya's taxes and the issue will go away.

Do it the old school NOLA way. Greasing palms. Then rat her out, recall and have a new election.

I wonder what would happen if the krewes refused to roll next year in response to the mayor

This is not on the city, krewes, floats or tractor drivers..this is on the people themselves!

Control your emotions, your libations and your need for a .10 bead!

You dont blame an alligator if a person puts their hand in its mouth!

If a float is moving..get out the way!

Also ..do the Kerns own every tractor in New Orleans?

Kenner already trying hard to bring in parades. they got ISIS which was likely the worst of the Metairie parades, but it's a start.

But, how much money can the mayor put in her pocket to get this done?

I drove down Veterans today along part of the parade route and guess what.. there were tent frames chairs, etc. out early and JP wasn't collecting stuff from people saving spaces.

New Orleans is just out of control on the micromanaging parade routes.

If people want to leave their crap out in advance of the parade without watching it, so be it. If it gets stolen, it gets stolen. As long as it's not blocking intersections or streetcar lines or traffic, leave it alone, LaToya.

Get thee back to California where you came from.

The wizards making these elaborate floats I'm sure can find something that will look nice anyway. Could even look better than current tandems

Sure. But unfortunately, safety features are almost always implemented in reaction to an injury or death.

An honest task force would come to the obvious conclusion that not drinking alcohol outside would solve most of the problem, but New Orleans does not want to make that change.

Why isn't this an option or already done? In Mobile they have the entire route lined with police barricades. Up until about 30 minutes before the parade starts you can cross the line and the street, but once they lock the barricades together, if you cross them you get arrested.

What....

Nothing has come out to suggest the people consumed alcohol or let alone over consumed. This is a worse knee jerk reaction then the actual one.

Let alone the fact that it would cost the city millions in tourism and tax revenue.
