The accomplishments Elon has made and continues to make likely puts him up there with the most important humans to ever walk the Earth. He’s already in the discussion…if he does this another 30 years then who knows what those contributions could become.

What's left to discover on the moon?
Most wouldn't watch same as people go on about their life on 9/11 now. They think Sadam did 9/11 and 3 black ladies got us to the moon.
That's our DoE.
Govt is always the problem, it serves itself.

We’d have a colony on Europa and probably landing a man on Titan by now if we kept up at that pace and had a visionary like Elon.
It still blows my mind that we went from Kitty Hawk to the Moon Landing in 60 years. It makes no sense.

Government is always the problem, and never the solution.

I read this and my first thought was “damn I could ship a kilo of coke to the news Mars city for only 10 bucks. Imagine the profits”

So we aren't discovering it?
It's a matter of obtaining it and someone thinking it's profitable to do so?
