How the hell do working parents even handle either of those scenarios?

The best case scenario is kids going 2 days a week, regardless of grade level? Ouch.

I don't know how people with elementary aged kids are supposed to work. That is tough.

Exactly. I guess they just expect everyone to quit their jobs so they can supervise their kids (what we pay the schools to do).

We have started to panic again over this since the positive cases started climbing. I don’t see us getting to phase 3 anytime soon, and it’s basically impossible to start 5 day a week school if your still not at phase 3 due to the busing restrictions.

Some teachers need to be quitting and looking to form smaller "private tutor sessions" to take the place of the schools if these are the shite options. People will pay.

People need to go to work despite the government's best and repeated attempts to prevent them.

What will private schools do? Will this kill them off? Who would pay private school prices for a "virtual learning environment"?

Keep in mind. More people died from being murdered or in auto accidents than from COVID recently in LA. Yet all we hear about are “cases”.... which are usually asymptomatic.

Didn’t read the link because anything other than kids being in school 5 days a week is bordering on encouraging additional child abuse by their unemployed parents. You won’t see this reported because teachers don’t care because they will still get paid in full. Our front line of child abuse exposers and normal social functioning of children is being lost.

But the teachers really care about the children. Yeah, right!

As a high school teacher, I am dreading this shite. I hope my parish announces traditional learning like it was before COVID. I just want to go back to normal where I’m in my classroom 5 days a week teaching the normal amount of kids

There will be a second stimulus and possibly talk of a third if people have to start quitting their jobs to watch their kids. People aren’t going to just leave their young children at home alone all day.

If Covid didn’t collapse the economy this sure as hell will.

People should just openly revolt at this point. Besides just the economic impact of childcare, You cannot have a generation of kids who missed 2 years of school.
