You can’t make much with that degree either.

Hide behind your superintendent though. Don’t voice any opinion on social media demanding to teach in the classroom like normal. You and JBE are screwing up kids lives. Every child with a broken bone, sexually abused, death etc. is on you because you stayed silent for the kids you claim you want to protect and love being around.

Platitudes!

Probably because those kids are at the same exposure risk regardless since mom/dad are there 4 days a week.

It’s still bad optics, I agree

Well thats awfully nice of them. Have they considered that exception for the 80-90% of the remainder of the student body that have working parents?

Yea most districts operate with less than 50% teacher participation in unions because they are generally not effective. It is going to suck next year for everyone and there is no realistic around it unless they come up with a miracle cure/vaccine.

1) Many teachers have kids.

2) Virtual teaching adds a lot of extra work for teachers and students.

3) It is really going to affect young and special education students.

4) A hybrid system is going to be a shite show.

5) Even if everyone starts at full complicity, teachers are going to catch COVID. There is no way school districts can handle mass teachers getting sick.

The same could be said for kids whose parents will be forced to find some kind of childcare or worse, leave them with elderly family members.

So they recognize people may have a problem handling this and give an exception to teachers but no one else? Wtf?

All the Ad hominems are great but not one solid argument from the teachers has been articulated. Like I said, hide behind your superintendent and ask the nurses and doctors what is really happening with kids during this distancing.

You EBR teachers are pathetic. Union or not, conservative or liberal, it shouldn’t matter what you are if you’re really trying to help the kids. Those kids will live the abuse you were too scared to stand up for. It’s disgusting.

I don’t disagree. If that’s true they need to open it for all kids. But it’s Louisiana so they’ll do whatever shite doesn’t make sense.

Yes this is true. I’m basing on the lab school alone. While everyone else has to scramble to find out what to do, they are allowing the teachers kids to go every day and not just the 2 days.

That's a shite show.....in this case all the small town privates will be shut down by September anyway because they'll have numerous teachers and students with COVID.....unless they have the balls to treat COVID with the seriousness that it actually warrants which is basically that of a nasty respiratory infection....no school, not even private, will go that far against the govt

Do you have a source on this?

5 people died per day over the last few days according to LDH STATEWIDE with COVID.

I’m quite confident that the murder totals and car accident deaths over the weekend will surpass that. Hell, in Baton Rouge alone there were 8 or 9 people shot ( not necessary killed) already.

But let’s not derail this thread with this ....let’s stick to the school situation.

EBR bussing fricked up some of the best neighborhoods, schools and real estate in BR. NEW PLAN PLEASE!!!, IT HAS BEEN 40 YEARS of telling whitey to bend over and take it dry, bus kids who do not want to learn into neighborhood schools and eventually turn all the schools one ethnicity, increase the crime in said neighborhoods, lose home values and white flight. frick YOUR BUSSING AND “POLICIES”

I suppose it's a good a time as any to talk about probably historically the biggest thing that caused the public school system in BR to basically collapse....why not?
