Let kids be kids as long as possible. My 8 yo (turning 9 soon) is on edge of not believing. This is probably our last go around with him believing in Santa or Easter bunny.

And lol letting a 17 yo do an Easter egg hunt. Our local church caps the age at 12 for that for the Church Easter egg hunt

If the OP considers this "drama" I'm not sure if he's lucky or missing out on the real shite.

You can laugh and dismiss those views. Like I said, it is simply an opinion.

Some based in fact though. The fact that you have 57 posts a day for 20 years implies some degree of addiction, which itself is a psychological state, usually with physical reward symptoms.

It isn’t as if you are alone in that though.

Hell, I have 16 posts a day for 13 years. That is pretty bad in and of itself.

I wouldn’t know. I didn’t post on here in 2005.

I have been here since 2011 though.

Would I wait that long to tell my kid, no. Would I verbally go after a relative for doing that, especially when my kid broke the illusion? No.

Your psychological assessments is literally the same shite. Yet you've argued I've changed.

I mean I have, in some ways. I used to make people cry. I made multiple LLOTOT cry, in fact. I'm not that savage anymore.

It's not even a story that people are accepting positively
Because when people reject your story it confirms in your mind how unique and special you are. Negative attention from the board and other rabble makes you feel better about yourself.

This is the worst part... that OP let his adult child participate. A few lighthearted comments could've smoothed it over to allow a fun day to just go on.

I wish he would have addressed this.

I think at one time he thought that if he stopped posting, the site would just cease to exist.

He then kind of just was a blend into the mix poster, albeit the one with the highest post count.

Now he is back to the I can't just blend in. I have to have an act or reputation on here. Plenty of posters can't just be 'normal' on here. They need to stand out. There's no just reply with what you're thinking but instead it's a reply to try and get reactions on here.

I don't get it to be honest. I have a shite ton of posts on here but could walk away this second and never post again. I don't think they can. They need this site even though the site as a whole doesn't even want them.

Well, you have over the previous 13 years, at least in my opinion.

Maybe we have just gotten old.

Which is a really sweet thought....until your friends start making fun of you. 5th grade me and my buddies were already cursing pretty regularly and def not believing in the Easter bunny....these days I'd image its more accelerated.

That's makes me sad. The kids in our family are not experiencing that and they do not curse at that age. They are being raised well, though.

The ability to wink and nod about things like this, is likely as big a life lesson for a kid as anything else.

Totally. Our oldest 100% still believed in 5th grade and we didn't want her going into middle school because middle schoolers are straight up jerks and she is not one to back down on her beliefs. Told her the truth but that it meant she was now rolled into even bigger magic because she can be a part of creating it. She helps us Christmas Eve, she moves the elf for us each night, she helped me last night making up the baskets and hiding eggs for her younger sister. She talks up Santa and Easter bunny with younger kids, never ruins it for them. She said it is way more fun creating the magic for others.

I don't understand why other people think it is their place to ruin the magic for someone else just because they think it is stupid.

Other people changing is typically the big factor.

It's incredibly common when poli board people say I've changed, when they've taken multiple left turns in the face of my consistency.

My 2nd grader son still believes in tooth fairy and Santa, but he has called bullshite on the Easter bunny. It’s funny to me where kids will draw the line when it comes to this stuff

Don’t worry. There’s literally zero chance this happened. Pure OT fan fiction where the post is what the person “would have said” instead of what they did, which was likely mumbling an “I’m sorry”

It's just my opinion. You thinking you're the most important poster here and the site depended on you. You've historically been one of the most arrogant posters on this site. I don't think there is much you can deny about that statement

Asap thread? You know that's not what I'm talking about. I don't get playing oweo level dumb right here when you're the smartest person in the room all the time elsewhere

And are we really bragging about making girl posters cry? Come on
