Baton Rouge area attorney, E Eric Guirard, made his campaign announcement Friday, July 24. Guirard says he plans to make Baton Rouge the “next great American city” by focusing on the following five issues: Education, Traffic, Crime, Business Development and Community Relations/Quality of Life.
quote:
Guirard joins six other candidates currently in the race: incumbent mayor-president, Sharon Weston Broome, Councilman Matt Watson, Councilwoman Tara Wicker, Rep. C. Denise Marcelle, businessman, Jordan Piazza, and Frank Smith III. Qualifying for the election ends at 4:30 p.m. Friday, July 24.

“I saw the race for Baton Rouge mayor was quickly becoming a circus, so I decided we needed a ringmaster.”

Will the E get your guarantee?
Edit: This is not an endorsement, I personally think the guy is a buffoon

I'd take E over Broome, Marcelle, Carter, Smith or Piazza.

The mayor has a minimal role in education.
What’s his plan for the BRPD? What’s his stance on SG?
What about cleaning up the parish? Drainage? What’s his stance on public transportation?

I hope his music career doesn't come back to haunt him.

I’m running for Iberia Parish Sheriff

Didn’t see any threads on it before... and I do not go to political talk

E'd probably have Gravy as one of his lieutenants.

This is the best Baton Rouge has to offer? Geez. How depressing.

I think E ran and lost the Lt Governor seat.
His platform is that he was going to do away with the position. Put a 'Gone Fishing' sign on the door.

Is there a resource that helps locals find information about each of the candidates? I want to be more involved in local politics but I know nothing about anyone except Broome and that Matt Watson is my metro council rep currently.

Didn't that guy get disbarred? I know it was one of the billboard sluts.

Call me when your city council president who is running for DA is under indictment for major tax fraud.

What's the E stand for?
