Is there a resource that helps locals find information about each of the candidates?

The Advocate will do a reasonably neutral profile on each of the major candidates before the election. I'd imagine some of the local blogs will have profiles as well. You can always look at the campaign websites for some idea of what they claim to be about. And there will be a debate at some point.

There's probably not much available on Smith or Piazza at this point. Broome, Marcelle, Watson and Wicker have been involved in city government in the recent past, so you should be able to get a good idea of what they are about from their records. Carter has run for at least one other office, and you can google Guirard for his comments over the past 10 years.

Would be nice if you could find all the facts in one place without a bunch of opinions.

IIRC, he faced disciplinary charges for using runners. I don’t know if he was disbarred or not.

He was suspended but not for that

This is what I was hoping for, but seemed unlikely.

This is the best Baton Rouge has to offer? Geez. How depressing.

I hope we get to some debates and get more information but I like what I’ve read about Matt Watson so far.

His page talks about cleaning up blight bc of the tire shredder... He did help bring the tire shredder in but it's not even operational, tied up in politics. Absolutely zero blight has been shred because of that. It's funny to see the spin.

Having him wear his E Superman outfit to a debate would be golden.

That’s the best that are willing to run. There isn’t a chance in hell I’d run, or advocate any one I know to run. Having to put up with all the bs associated with the race never mind the hate hurled at you if you win if you’re conservative. Image having to put up with all the gravy’s of BR. Nah not worth it. I can’t fathom being President Trump. The man can’t take a crap without getting ridiculed.

You can find the meeting minutes here. It looks like they don't have records back when C Denise Marcelle was on the council. Lucky for her.

I think E ran and lost the Lt Governor seat. His platform is that he was going to do away with the position. Put a 'Gone Fishing' sign on the door.

He did. Should have won for that.

The people of LA have really screwed the pooch when it comes to electing a Lt Gov. The job is tourism. We could have had Sammy Kershaw and Kip Holden. Kip Holden brought tourism to Baton freakin Rouge. He would have travelled the world in costumes and flooded the state with tourists.
