Just passed a Trash can cleaning service truck… looked it up and it’s exactly what you think it is. People are paying $20 a month to have someone come and clean their trash can… or $65 one time cleaning. I can’t believe this is a real thing honestly. They advertise to make sure you don’t have “dangerous germs like bacteria and fungi” on your trash can. Like I’m trying to eat out of the dumpster like it’s a dinner plate. Has to be one of the dumbest things I have ever heard of someone paying for. Jackson Arnold’s NIL may be the only thing worse

You've never had a diaper genie bag bust open in your can before

I knew a kid that did this as a side job when he was in High School. He started advertising in the neighborhood FB group and was making pretty good money doing it. He was charging between $20-$30 a can.

ETA- it ain’t dumb if someone is going to pay you for it.

Back 20 years ago some offical on the Westbank (Mayor of Brusly or Plaquemines Ops something) was caught up in a kickback scheme hiring a company to do this for the whole city.

Sometimes trashcans get disgusting. Some people don't have the stomach to clean them themselves.

People pay others to clean a lot less disgusting things all the time.

Not that dumb

About the same to me as dog owners who pay someone to come to their house to pick up their dog's crap out of the yard.

If you're that fricking lazy, you don't need to own a dog because most healthy dogs are going to crap at least 2-3 times a day.

My can was pretty ripe one time. So I rinsed it with the water hose as best I can, filled it with water and dumped in a gallon of pool shock (basically strong bleach). Let that sit for about a day and that seemed to pretty much do the trick.

The people paying for this are extremely dumb but the people taking the dumb people’s money to do it are smart.

not really, I've done just about every kind of dirty work you could think of, as I age I just don't want to do certain things any more, and I can afford to pay someone else to do those things if I don't want to

True to a point. I think the kid I knew was doing it for a lot of elderly people in the neighborhood.

Had some raw chicken get stuck in the bottom of mine one time... in the summer. It stunk so badly I could barely open it without gagging. I cleaned it out myself but it was almost to the point of paying someone.

I do it. Start at $5 for decently clean cans to $20 or more for filthy. Little dawn, borox & a pressure washer, good as new.

I can make a couple hundred in a day. I live near a ritzy lake neighborhood. 2 of them. People will pay you $5 to just put the cans up. There are hundreds of cans. Women will pay to bring groceries in.

Took an early retirement due to m.s and got bored. So I do small odd & ends for people. $5 here 10 there 25 here. It can add up. I can't work everyday but I go when I can.

I let my son have it when he's home from State. Now he's made over $500 in day, but thats daylight until dark. But he made about $7k last summer

I’ve been told people don’t have a spending problem and are struggling.

I have cleaned my can and I have paid to have it cleaned.

What I won't do is have a stinky trash can
