No, doesn't acknowledge Jesus as the only way to God, at the very least.

They’re both a part of the abrahamic religions. That’s probably what he’s trying to say

yes fighting hate with hate and stooping to the level of radical Islamist by killing innocent people as well would surely be the right thing to do. We’re really showing them how wrong they are with their beliefs lol.

Islam is not a religion. It is a code of conduct that goes way beyond religion. It is not compatible with western civilization. Islam is one of the main reasons our forefathers instituted the separation of church and state. There is no such distinction in Islam. Islam is a road to nowhere.

No. But Allah is the God of Abraham. (Allah is just the Arabic word for God.) Christ is mentioned in the Quran, but he is seen as a prophet.
Muslims do not believe in original sin, so they do not need Jesus to be a sacrifice or Messiah.

Some similarities. They are both Abrahamic Religions. Both believe in Jesus, Christianity believes He's the Savior, Islam believes He is one of the great prophets.

Also, the key to open the holiest site in Christianity, the Church of the Holy Sepulcher has been controlled by the same Muslim family since the 6th century. This was done to keep one of the three major Christin denominations, Roman Catholic, Greek Orthodox, and the Armenian Orthodox for claiming the church to be their own and excluding the other two from worshiping there.

It’s essentially why both became predominant religions in the area. Rome used it to unite and conquer, Muhammad and lots of those after him did and are still doing the same.

Bring Christianity back 500 years and you would find some pretty barbaric shite going on by the church itself. Christianity has lost its grip with the countries it once controlled.

A bunch of white guys in a country with virtually zero muslims, who had just gotten out from under the Catholic-controlled British monarchy, instituted separation of church and state because of Islam? I'd ask you where you heard that, but I'm pretty sure I know.

Muslims worship Jesus

jesus is mentioned in the Quran more than any other person. They believe he is a prophet and the Son of God, but not God incarnate. They don't believe in the resurrection but that he ascended to heaven while still alive.

The two religions are very intertwined in history just like they both are with Judaism. They all started in the same place, share many of the same people & stories, etc.

The modern Islam that people rant about is the branch that comes from Saudi Arabia: Wahhabism. The Saudi government spends roughly $3 billion per year spreading their brand of extremism to the rest of the muslim world. The US continues to allow Saudi Arabia to do whatever the frick they want, give them tons of money, then complain about islamic extremist affecting the US. Saudi Arabia is the enemy, not Islam.

They do not recognize Jesus as the Messiah, which automatically disqualifies them from truly being considered "Christians".

This isn't really true. They do refer to Jesus as Messiah, they just don't believe he is God Incarnate. They believe he is the precursor to Muhammad and there are verses in the Quran that discuss Jesus prophesying Muhammad.

quote:

In Islam, ?Isa ibn Maryam (Arabic: ???? ?? ?????, lit. 'Jesus, son of Mary'), or Jesus, is understood to be the penultimate prophet and messenger of God (Allah) and al-Masih, the Arabic term for Messiah (Christ), sent to guide the Children of Israel with a new revelation: al-Injil (Arabic for "the gospel").

Catholic-controlled British monarchy

Uh no, Henry VIII told the Catholic Church to suck it in mid 1500s and decided to control the church himself, colonies came later. People tired of Catholicism came from other countries like the Dutch. English Puritans didn’t want anything to do with the Church of England.

Does your friend also think a pineapple is a kind of apple? That's about how close your discussion was to making to any sense, and you had to come here to ask us if it was stupid?
