Wait, someone was speaking in absolutes I’m order for themselves to appear like they know what they’re talking about on TD?

You don’t say. I’m floored, I tell you. FLOORED

So are we just going to sit in our houses for the next two years until a possible vaccine comes out?

Back to square one? I respectfully disagree. The entire purpose of this was to flatten the curve and to prevent hospitals and medical resources from being over run (which they have never been). The more we test, the more cases we will see. We are already finding out by many small studies the alarming amount of asymptomatic cases. This thing has been making its way through a lot of communities and a lot don't even know it. If the hospitalization and date rate don't go out of control, the total cases shouldn't matter much. If anything the CFR should continue to get lower as we get a better grasp on the amount of undocumented/asymptomatic cases.

You can still practice social distancing and other safety practice while going back to work. Those most at risk can continue to stay home if they would like. Its not feasible to keep this charade going on for months more, you will have a lot more to worry about than just COVID-19

but there’s no sub for sports in the world. I love competition

Watch esports. The virtual F1 has been pretty good. More exciting than the real F1.

They're also doing legit chess tourneys online now with commentary. The Carlsen Invitational is tight. Not much difference than watching one with players in the same venue.

I'm sure you can go to Twitch and watch some Madden come this fall.

you are just going to ignore all context, eh?

You don't think we will have sports in 2020?

the NBA is already making plans to return

Yeh, about that. Kerr told his team and media yesterday the season is over....

If hospitalization rate and death rate don’t go out of control, the number of cases increasing doesn’t matter.

Guess what, more testing also brings more cases. So under that theory, less testing is better

So does that also go for those who think/plan about safety in nuclear and industrial plants too? What about chemical plants? They shouldn't think about safety either or make decisions based on it? Just go out there and see what happens.

Dumb

I would say that you responding to me as if I was talking about "thinking about safety" instead of "guaranteeing safety" is dumb.

maybe temporarily. there is too much money for football to not come back, and in time it will be able to fund all of that again.

When the crooks that run universities see the extra cash from not having non-revenue sports, it's going straight to their pockets.

Unfortunately women's beach volleyball might be a thing of yesteryear

Lol

When can you ever guarantee anything?

Give people some information.

Let a free people make their own decision about their own lives.

These are some arrogant assholes.

No, they act like objective metrics should be what we use to make decisions, not our feelings.

Nobody expects this to go away. If we don't expect to overwhelm hospitals based on data-driven models; this lockdown serves no purpose. The people thinking a second spike inherently justifies a lockdown would have us in clean rooms until a vaccine emerges.

Kerr said nothing about the NBA overall. No matter how much you try to wish it into existence, it's not gonna happen.
