I lived in Los Angeles for 28 years. L.A. is basically Mexico north. My experience has been that Mexicans in general are the kindest, most generous, hardest working people to be found anywhere. And family means everything to them.
And while some of them think it's okay to have parties in their backyards on the weekends and play loud music until 2 in the morning, most of them are great neighbors.

A lot of Hispanics and Latino/Latina people are what white people used to be. People who love their families, do whatever it takes to support their families, are hard workers, and very Christian. These Spanish speaking people get a bad rep in our country. They have better morals than today’s Europeans I think.

LOL! I swear, I shake my head at some of the stuff I read on this board.
Some of you guys on here that absolutely despise diversity need to take a deep breath and enjoy life.
This interaction with the Mexican family could have just as easily been with Vietnamese-Americans, Brazilians, Japanese, Canadians, African-Americans, gay couples, and the list goes on.
Believe it or not, deep down people from all circles are good folks. Get out of your comfort zone and enjoy the people around you. Life is short. Experience it.

Huge generalization again, the young latinas and Asians (under 30) don’t cook and have been Americanized. Female Asians especially are horribly materialistic here in Houston, anecdotal example; friend of mine owns successful company makes 250k per year and his Asian girlfriend(28) dumped him because his “nest egg” wasn’t big enough. It’s gonna be tough to find a Latina that can cook under 30 unless she’s already a torta or still has water dripping off her back. I employ roughly 25-35 Asians and Latinos/ latinas for reference. I’ll concur the Vaqueros are amazing folks and remind me a lot of middle class Cajuns from back home. Oh and my Cajun mom and Texan wife( who lived in LA for a decade plus) will get down with either toe to toe in kitchen.

You know we kind of lucked out here in America. Look at what kind of immigrants European countries get.
A bunch of Middle Easterners with no chance in hell of assimilating.
Hispanics come over and generally work hard, they’re Christians, and they are family-oriented. Boots and cowboy hats are even part of their culture.
As far as immigrants go, I don’t think any group is better.

I wouldn’t limit it to just Mexicans. Grew up in a neighborhood with Puerto Rican and Dominican families. It was like growing up with three moms. Great, hardworking, family oriented people. They could flat out cook as well

Anyone ive ever seen who hates mexicans has come off as bizarre to me. Only ones ive ever met were hard working and friendly as hell. Send everyone else back, well hang onto these guys.

I generally agree with the sentiment toward Mexicans but I admit being a little annoyed that some can be in this country for 10 years or more without learning to speak English

Exactly, I worked patrol in southwest Dallas, 97% hispanic area. Respond to a call, the a-hole Mexican who answers the door and speaks serviceable English tells me, “We speak Spanish in this house.” I responded, “fine, dial 911 and get a different officer.” Jump in my car and split. There are definitely some quality Mexican folk. Let’s not pretend their aren’t a huge segment that are racist as hell and are here to take over.
