DOTD announces I10 to be shut down to 1 lane for up to a year starting in 2023

Who the frick thought this was a good idea. Seems dotd wants to shut down I 10 to 1 lane each direction from government to Acadian for up to 1 year. WTF. That’s Going to be the biggest traffic clusterfrick in America.

With the murder rate in that area...it shouldn't be a problem.
And before anyone mentions my Dad...it was in that area. He was just ahead of the times.

Traffic will be backed up to Gonzales going west bound and to the basin bridge or worse heading east bound. It will take hours / days to get anywhere.

The approach and exit from the bridge will be the worst,
Each will be reduced to one lane each direction, one lane on the curved inclined approach to the bridge with opposing traffic in the other lane , can you imagine the back ups without a wreck or breakdown?

They coulda/shoulda built a bypass for thru traffic before this and it wouldn't gave been such an impending disaster.
