What's the draw? And do you just not mind spending 30% more on your food?
I won’t do it frequently… but if mindful of delivery price, menu mark ups and deals available, I’m able to usually keep it much closer than that when I do.
If you get free to near free delivery at a restaurant that doesn’t grossly mark up items, a simple buy 1 get 1 inclusion or $10 off $25+ can get you to a palatable markup
I knew some folks doing it with reckless abandon and would be shocked how often they’d get a $30 burger or similar for themselves.

I use them all the time, when I don’t feel like cooking or run out of something. They’ll also pick up groceries, alcohol and/or things you may need at the Pharmacy.

No motivation needed. Odds are better that someone in the kitchen was gross than a dasher “finding a way” to frick with a sealed bag. Though I’m curious about your motivation in using decade old anecdotes to inform and dictate present behavior.
Agreed. That’s always a risk too. Although I could make the argument that in a kitchen monitored by managers and cameras an employee might be less likely to try to mess with your food than an unsupervised kid in his car. But layering the stoned teenager in his mom’s altima on top of the guy in the kitchen is just multiplying the risk. Good on you for embracing the extra risk.
My only original motivation was to inform you that your pho had a booger in it.

Had a co-worker order almost daily from DD and when he got his order he would put in a complaint saying either something was missing or they got the order wrong. At the time it was just an automatic refund and no verification was needed. He never paid for a meal for quite some time.
I hate people like this.

Glad that we’ve established that you have a skewed perception of risk and let old, outdated information inform your behavior, then double down when presented with more accurate information

People who use Door Dash get so defensive. Everyone justifies it to the max.

I think it's a situation of live and let live.
I don't ever order door dash/uber eats, but I pick up dinner for myself a ton. After a day of work and, often, a long run, the time/energy it takes to cook isn't worth the money it costs for takeout.
It's a similar principle with door dashing. While I don't do it, I understand that, for some people, the convenience is worth the price. To each their own.

Even accounting for tip, uber eats will now deliver groceries the 40 miles to the house cheaper than I can drive there and back.

You don't see the appeal of letting someone else pull up for da spicy?
Have you ever had pizza delivered? It's the same thing.

This is another thing. I was low on dog food and didn't feel like going far as frick to get dog food so I just had it delivered same day.

The childless always make themselves extremely evident in these types of threads.

Well its expensive and not a must but you have to be a moron NOT TO SEE THE APPEAL
Whats the appeal of pizza delivery?
Ask the question you want to ask

Sure thing, booger eater

I hear you. That lazy motherfrickers pay extra for people to spit and piss in their food because they're cheap and don't care for the shite. And have never understood why people needlessly throw away money.
