Unless you have a job that opens back up that tells you that you can't stay home.
Part of having a job is they tell you what to do. You dont like it quit. If you think this virus is going to kill you, I would suggest not going into work.
How does 1 employee quitting because they are scared sound terrible, but not 250 employees being laid off because the business was forced closed?

For one, there may already be a large number that have built the antibodies.
The antibodies do nothing. Large numbers of people have become reinfected after having covid-19 per WHO and CDC.
Things won't change until a vaccine is widely available.
Is that the same WHO that tweeted: https://twitter.com/WHO/status/1217043229427761152?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1217043229427761152%7Ctwgr%5E&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.foxnews.com%2Fworld%2Fworld-health-organization-january-tweet-china-human-transmission-coronavirus

Well, if you don't want to hear it then I guess that is the end of it.

The whole "well just stay home then" notion is as silly as people who are still drawing a paycheck telling unemployed people who haven't received unemployment yet to stay home.
no, you still have the choice. You dont have to go to work, You can stay home for the rest of your life. Thats your choice. As it should be

I'm not defending Trump. I said I was off the train the minute I saw those guidelines, because he clearly gave governors the go ahead to lock us down for at least another month and a half if not longer.

I find it’s the dumbest people I know that are suddenly infectious disease experts

I wouldn't consider it an anomaly. It's just a good example of how you can't just throw open the barn doors and let everyone out without any kind of restriction
What you can't do is choose to cause a depression. What you shouldn't be able to do is use your own fear to keep other people from living their lives.
I reject the entire premise that the government has the right (much less the responsibility) to "protect" us from a virus by destroying our livelihoods.

What did them in was removing all restrictions and having huge mass gatherings
But it didn't "do them in". Humanity survived that virus fine, despite it being much much more dangerous than COVID 19.

Lord help us, people are still talking about overwhelmed hospitals.

FoxNews does.
CNN is completely the opposite.
I can't stand watching either one.

Logically it will.
The longer the "curve" is "plateaued" below medical capacity, the better.

Pretty sure it does mean that, according to the Federal guidelines.
You're wrong.
It doesn't say we need no new cases to re-open.

Obviously if more people are out and about and interacting normally numbers will go up. Is this really debatable?
But people won't be interacting normally. We will still be social distancing, washing hands, etc. I've been doing this all along. Haven't missed a day of work, go to grocery store and convenience store, restaurant to pick up food, etc. And as far as your comment about giving it to older people....again, be responsible. My mom is 72, so when I go visit her, she comes outside, keeps her distance, we chat, I leave, it ain't that fricking hard.

There may be isn't a certainty pimp. And also, why test the water to see if it'll work or not. Ever heard the term "Better safe than sorry"?
Over 50k+ have died in the US alone from this. And in some cities/states it in the thousands alone. Summer might halt this virus for a short time but fall and winter will be it's best friend. I.e. cold/flu season.
If you want to play with your chances and health and the health of those around you, loved one or whomever, then go out and live your normal life the best you can. Just don't complain or cry wolf if you start getting sick...
Posted on 4/28/20 at 9:51 am to TheCaterpillar
So you open things up? That doesn't even make sense. "There will be more cases of people possibly getting sick and infecting others and possibly dying BUT doesn't mean we lock things down and stay inside." You don't want more cases...No one wants more cases just like no one wants to be sick or infect others, possibly those they love or care for.

The second wave of the Spanish Flu was a bizarre anomaly where one mutation got wholesale spread die to troop movement from World War I.
I wouldn't consider it an anomaly. It's just a good example of how you can't just throw open the barn doors and let everyone out without any kind of restriction. What did them in was removing all restrictions and having huge mass gatherings (parades for those returning from War) on top of troops bringing mutations home.
The phased plan released by the White House and supported by several Governors makes the most sense to avoid overwhelming hospitals.
It was very unusual, actually. Influenza viruses are recombinant (coronaviruses aren't).
