Don't want to hear that opening things up will lead to an increase of cases

Who knows? There hasn't been too many "experts" in this novel virus getting their doom and gloom forecasts and charts correct.
For one, there may already be a large number that have built the antibodies.
The virus may not do well in summer like months.
If you want to stay home, stay home

Of course there will be more cases but that doesn’t mean we need to lock things down

Unless you have a job that opens back up that tells you that you can't stay home.
The whole "well just stay home then" notion is as silly as people who are still drawing a paycheck telling unemployed people who haven't received unemployment yet to stay home.

Riveting take on the subject, so original, so well founded in science and so interesting.

Of course it will but that’s no excuse to stay locked down. That purpose was to slow it down so that it could be managed. We’ve done that.
Time to get back to work.

Cases are going up here but hospitalizations are going down
That’s what matters

Have I? Didn't think so.
I'm just tired of hearing cases will automatically get worse if stores, etc open back up.
No one can assuredly prove this.
We need to move on

An increase merely in cases is not important unless there is a spike in hospitalizations.
Most virus mutate AWAY from the deadly form as they have a survival instinct and if the host die they die.

They've flattened the curve. Now, we have a dip followed by an increase...

I mean it likely will. But an increase in new cases that is still well below the curve of hospital capacity is OK.
Of course, the media of Karen are going to doomsday shriek from the rooftops about “A nEw sPiKe pEoPle wIlL DiE!!!”

Trust me, all the govts will be testing as much as they can to get numbers up to show we need to shut down again. They want that sweet govt money. Which is short sighted because if we don't get to working, then we won't be able to even give the illusion we can pay any of this back ever.
The media will trumpet every death all the way through the election, you can count on that.

The second wave of the Spanish flu killed way more than the first wave. Obviously if more people are out and about and interacting normally numbers will go up. Is this really debatable?

Increases in cases are a good thing among the young and healthy

Nobody really knows what's going to happen. But I'm the kind of person who likes to deal in facts rather than speculation and opinion. Here's the facts, our economy took a Mike Tyson sized punch to the face (to put it mildly). We need to get back to work and get the system circulating again.
Or, we can continue the damage and future trip our way into wearing masks in public and becoming germaphobic and agoraphobic and damning the people who are going back to normal life again with activity.
You know the saying "the loud ones are the ones they hear the most"? We've been listening to the dumbasses scream and shout their way for the past 20 years. It's time for the intelligent sector of our society to stand up and fricking get loud about this.
