We used to teach kids to strive for learning and to work hard, now we shame them

that is the (original) American way. That is why millions of people have flocked to this country- a land where if you work hard you can and will be rewarded. Land of opportunity

now the mentality has shifted to "what do I get for free"

Kennedy said it best- "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country" he is rolling in his grave (assuming his grave still exist, I am sure he is racist so we need to destroy it)

They aren't saying don't a get tutor if your school closes. They are saying keep schools open so you don't have to rely a tutor.

It’s a mix of grades but how the hell does a family with 3 kids in elementary school and two full time working parents deal with virtual learning?

A freaking 1st grader doing online classes. Lol. A total joke.

Even if you had a stay at home parent, there's no way you could maintain focus for 3 elementary age children. They'd all be distracting each other, not to mention the parent having to try to go over 3 separate lessons.

Well if they're bitching about it, it must be the exact thing to do

So I guess we should shutdown all preschools, after school programs, and basically all private schools that aren't free to everyone because the give 'privileged' kids an advantage?

Well, it is factual that kids in the ghetto don’t get private tutoring.....

I laugh at those wanting to shut down schools. They’re the same ones that are crying loudest about social injustice.

Seems incongruent, considering the ultimate price of closing schools will be paid by lower class people, especially minorities.

Isn’t the point of being a parent to give my kids every advantage to be successful as possible?
