I read in Denver the electric company was able to adjust thermostats upwards for people that have so called Smart thermostats.

The south is way too humid to regularly keep your thermostat at 85 for long periods. You are letting the humidity get too high for modern houses.

Some say it’s overrated, but I’m not one of them. 70 is too warm, and 68 is too cold. 69 is nice.

If we all go to prison for setting our thermostats lower than 85, most jails have air conditioning set lower than 85.

74° during the day, 72° when we get home, and 70° at night.

Yep…. at 85 the humidity in the house will rise… and then mold and mildew will form.

I mean he’s not wrong. We turn ours off whenever we leave the house.

Sorry, can't do that, because I'm not at home.

It’s set to 85 when I’m there.

I turn the heater on when I leave. Then AC goes to 64 when I get home.

My thermostat will never see the mid 70s.
Stays in the upper 60s no matter what
Stays in the upper 60s no matter what

What region of the country do you live?
How long are you away from the house?
