Mine can't cook beyond baking meat with sauce on it. Which sucks, my Mom was one hell of a cook. I miss wholesome homemade meals (and all my parents/grandparents have passed so no place to go for home cooked meals)
An outdoor fridge filled with longnecks and a BBQ pit.
That's how you balance things out. It soothes the soul on a weekend.

You should tell her she isn’t as good as your mom

I don't think my wife has ever been in our kitchen much less cook. Though she makes more money than me so she usually picks up the waitr tab.

My wife has a Masters degree in Food Science (worked for 20 years as a food product developer). She can make unbelievable meals out of the most eclectic mix of stuff from the fridge. That is why I am fat.

Yes and yes.
Very good at baking, pretty good at main meals.
She gets all kind of fantastic recipes off of Pinterest.
Also she learned as she went. When we were first married, she admittedly couldn't cook a good meal to save her life. Her mom never cooked much.
If we both worked, I would probably do some of the cooking. It's not rocket science to put together something halfway decent if you have a good recipe. Just follow the recipe.

My wife can cook but she isn't really good at it.
I cook much better than her.
My mom's cooking was better than anyone else's food I've ever had. She was the quintessential cajun cooking mom.
My wife's mom while she has a coonass last name cooks like a goddamn yankee.

My wife is an excellent cook, particularly cooking Italian food.

My wife is an amazing cook and she loves to cook which is a ++.

My wife does cook. She's not too good, but she admits it easily so it isn't a big deal.

Baking should start with getting a good scales and a cookbook where the recipes are by weights (for dry ingredients).
A dependable warming area for yeast doughs.
A thermometer for checking oven temperature.
A second thermometer for checking internal temperature of baked product.
AND, a magic marker to indicate date opened for baking soda and baking powder.
Then you can worry about refinements like humidity affecting some flours, etc.

I taught mine a lot. She could cook some. She bakes amazing. She tries hard and food is usually ready when I come home, even if it's not awesome it's always edible.
I'm happy. She's also hot so even if she couldn't cook it'd still be worth it.

No..not at all. I'm the cook of the house 99% of the time. 1% of the time she surprises me with a meal. She tried to get fancy once and even she couldn't stand it. Now if she surprises me it's with like...fajitas lol

She's a great cook. But she just doesnt like cooking. She will only cook maybe a max of 2 nights a week. So normally I cook majority of nights making extremely simple meals like rice and gravy, spaghetti, or hamburgers. When she cooks she does it up big with the not so simple meals.

It’s not high on my priority list. My wife makes a bunch of money. Any cooking she does is a bonus. We’ll get someone to cook for us.

That's great if you don't make enough. Just know she doesn't look at you or treat you the way a wife looks at a husband who takes care of her.

It's like old fashioned household, except there's two dudes and a person paid to fill the role of wife.

Yes and yes.
I’m better at grilling and cooking stuff from scratch/recipe.
She’s better at sweets and pasta dishes.

My dad was a fireman when I was a kid and I used to go down there and cook with the men. If there was a fire they would send me to the boarding house across the street that was staffed by Creole women who would pull me into the kitchen and have me cook and clean with them. Dad was always pulling home ice chest full of either shrimp or oysters and we would cook, grill, sauté, boil, do whatever it takes and so I learned to cook at an early age.
My wife who is from Utah didn't have the advantages in learning to cook like I did.I mean what the hell do they cook in Utah?
