I always thought I loved my mother's cooking... then I married my wife. (Sorry mom)
She is always trying something new or coming up with new stuff of her own that tastes amazing. The only downfall is that a lot of restaurants are pretty dissapointing in comparison.
Good thing I have low BP/cholesterol, because I've put on quite a few. But then she tries to cook paleo/whole 30 stuff, and that shite tastes amazing, too.

My wife is a great cook but my oldest daughter is the best cook in the entire family. Has us over every other week for supper and it's always fantastic.

i don't bake but it's easy. just follow the directions... closely (and make sure your oven temp is correct)

She's a pretty good cook that hates cooking but doesn't mind cleaning up. I'm a better cook that hates cleaning up. It works out.

Baking is much easier imo since you have to follow directions. You have to put in exact measurements or you'll frick it up.

I'm the cook in the relationship, but I have been teaching her. She doesn't seem to enjoy it as much as me, so it's a slow process.

yeah baking is easy, just tedious. and i mean "baking" as in following a recipe of some sort, not being a contestant on the GBBS

i don't think the gf would want to listen. she thinks everything i cook is super fatty
she's always asking me to bake chicken breasts instead of cooking them on the stove b/c i use a little avocado oil and get a crust

I think the only difference there is just memorization of ratios for basics types of baking. If you know the ratio for biscuits, cake, cupcakes, etc, by heart then you're fine and can customize the shape and decorations after.
There's more technical skill in cooking imo.
