We have been going with the leave a key out method for the past couple years and about once every 6 months I forget to set it out before I leave. The wife calls me in a frantic about running back home to let her in. She is trust worthy so I think giving her a key is the way to go. Anyone got any horror stories from the giving their key to the maid?

Of course. How else would the wife come in and out?

No but she has her own code to the smart lock and I can see exactly when it is used. Upgrade.

I don’t lock my doors and we’re not here when the maid shows up.

If you're that worried, switch one door to a smart lock

I have a Meross remote garage door opener that I can open with my phone. I get a text when they're here and open the door for them.

Just get a deadbolt with the keypad. It's been great for the maid and the kids when they get off the bus. No more lost keys.

But thinking of switching to these bluetooth ones

Our housekeepers have their own code to our key less entry lock on the side of the house. They do not have their own key

No, they just have to check in with the guards at the south gate entrance.

Electronic locks tied to the alarm panel. Keeps a record of what code was used when. Add to that text msg alerts anytime an exterior door is unlocked as well as remote access.

My maid has a house key, I buy her a new car every 3 years, and I take her to dinner 2-3 nights a week. I also give her a good dickin any chance I get. She seems happy.
