its not about trusting the maid with the key, its about the maids brothers, sisters, cousins, and other family, that can get that key and make a copy.

get a realtors key lock box and hang it on the back door for her and give her the combination. that way you no longer have to remember to leave a key. that or get a security system you can lock or unlock the doors from your phone when the maid shows up and leaves

She has the garage code that has an internal door that can be deadbolted, inside door is left open on days she comes.
I also have outdoor cameras and a safe inside for valuables. She's here illegally so I doubt she's willing to risk it all to steal an Xbox or some cheap jewelry

We just leave the door unlocked for her.

Apparently I’m the maid since nobody else in this house will clean a goddamn thing.

Yes, I have a key.

Is this any different than having a key?

Good god, who doesn’t have a keypad on their front door these days?

I get it, the older double wides probably still use a key, but a hide-a-key behind the back wheel would probably work just fine too.

We don't. Have never seen the need. Keys work fine.

I can unlock my house remotely if needed, but yes, she has a key.

ETA: I think if you trust them enough to let them in your house while you aren't home, they're probably trustworthy enough to have a key.

No, they just have to check in with the guards at the south gate entrance.

Most times these OT rich jokes aren't that funny, but this one made me chuckle. Upvote for you.

Nope. Someone is always home. Either myself or the nanny.

Not for the day of but you can change or delete codes for keyless entry after the fact. It can be a one time use code if you really wanted to reset it every time

My driver takes my maid to my assistant's house. My assistant takes my maid to my house and I have my chef drop off the key each time to the maid.
