Had a co worker tell me "hop to it, times a wastin'!"
Do you think there such thing as the past and the present?
Are we in a perpetual state of 'nows?"

Inasmuch that we experience it, and it persists even with firm denial. Temporality, if not hard-coded into the universe, is hard-coded into the way which we interact with it.

I would have told my co-worker that while I may be wasting his time, I'm certainly not wasting mine.

Without time, there would be nothing. I'm guessing it exists. You're addicted to marijuana

Time, why you punish me? Like a wave bashing into the shore, you wash away my dreams. Time, why you walk away? Like a friend with somewhere to go, you left me crying.

Can you teach me about tomorrow and all the pain and sorrow running free? Cause tomorrow's just another day. And I don't believe in time.

It is 2:10PM CST, 2:00PM CST is the past. 2:15PM CST will be the future. You have to be smoking rope to try to philoso-phy this shite.

Be honest, by co-worker you mean buddy and by "hop to it, times a wastin'!" you mean "puff puff pass motherfricker! Stop bogarting that shite!".

That means stop screwing around on TD and do some work. You probably couldn't decipher because you are so stoned.

In the early-80s there was a small bit of graffiti one one of the side doors of one of the quad buildings on campus. I'd pass it walking to and from the stadium with my Dad on game days when I was in high school.

The graffiti read: "Space is time place."

That blew my mind.

Time does exist, but, it is an incredibly elastic and dynamic phenomenon -- far more than we realize.

After we pass from this life and proceed to our next life, we will see very clearly how quickly "time" passes for extra-corporeal sentient entities. For those beings, a century passes as quickly as we would perceive one second passing.

*coughs for 3 uninterrupted minutes*

Time is a means of measurement, same as our concepts of length, weight, and mass. The concept of it is a "human contruct," and the passage of time is defined by the movements of subatomic particles which remain structurally constant in themselves but are constantly forming and breaking bonds with other particles.

The past could exist in the future or present if all particles returned to their exact positioning they were in at the particular moment of the "past" one sought.
